Zer0Morph begins learning the Unity Engine (Download Inside)

Now, don't get super excited or anything but after reviewing the awesome stuff that Dogmat and Project Vaulderie released, I started getting more and more curious about the Unity Engine and its potential. So, I got a free copy of it this week and begin learning how to use it and the scripting that goes along with it. It appears you get 3 options of scripting languages; Java, C Sharp, or Boo. After looking at all three, it appears Java is the language most similar to Python which is what Bloodlines uses.

Next, I noticed you can create maps, models, textures, etc... with this powerful engine, and it's A LOT more intuitive than Source Engine's Hammer tool that we currently use for Bloodlines.

As I'm learning more and more about Unity, I will keep you up to date with my 'creations'. I already created a very simple game using 3D imaging and basic Java scripting, last night. Feel free to download it, here's how you play.

Zer0's Ball Game (Learning how to use Unity)
Keypad
A - Moves the ball to the left
D - Moves the ball to the right
Spacebar - Makes the ball jump

If the ball reaches the edge, it will fall (which was additional scripting to do that)

How to install
Unpack the .zip contents and double click the .exe file.


This little game is the first step towards something potentially awesome! If I were a project leader, with a solid team of talented folks, what could we create using the Unity Engine? Time will tell...

CCP can send as many letters to my email address as they'd like, I can live with that. I'm not going to let politics get in the way of releasing something the fans want and deserve. I don't agree with purchasing an IP that is loved and cherished by many, then stick it in the closet like a punishment and block anyone else from using it. I'm not cool with that. So I'm not worried about CCP.
