| Read about it here! Rock Papers ShotgunThis is amazing news! Paradox Interactive has shown themselves to be a down-to-earth, fair, non-money grubbing publisher on fantastic titles like Cities: Skylines, Europa Universalis, and Crusader Kings. They apparently don't care much about money but rather focus on just making good games, charging a fair price, and supporting them with patches. They do something that almost no publisher does these days, THEY LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER! Just the other day someone made a complaint on their "Let's Play" about Europa Universalis about the UI layout. Suddenly about a week later Paradox releases an update with this guys suggestion implemented. Stuff like that is unheard of these days. This is fantastic news and CEO Fredrik Wester is a smart guy and wouldn't have purchased WW without a plan. There is no downside to this. I highly doubt they will turn future VtM PC games into an MMO, they just don't seem like that kind of company. I wouldn't be surprised to see a PC game reboot series created and sold on Steam. I'm not a big fan of Steam but selling it on there really cuts down on publishing costs for them, which they can in turn use the saved money on a better game for us. What are everybody's thoughts on this? Join in the conversation! | |

| I am really happy to hear that! No more CCP meddling! We got to get a good VtM game! Unless they plan to make Vampire Universalis real time strategy | |

| OH MY GOD I AM SO HYPED AS SHIT. I LOVE Paradox games, they are freaking awesome! And now this.. oh god this is the best that could happen to WW/Vampire. Maybe even the PnP world will get some love. Had to switch to Pathfinder because my DM lost interest in Vampire.... AAARRGGGGGHHHH i am so happy right now i can't put it in words....

| Shabu! Long time no see!
*runs to Shabutaro wagging madly*
Now we have something VtM related to celebrate finally!
@Jad: Indeed. Nobody countered you then, if memory serves. What has happened seems to have been inevitable.

| Ye long time no see. Was always only lurking, checking for new TFN versions and what Childe is currently working on. But this was just too big news to not login, well try for 8 minutes remembering my password. WW/Vampire is in such good hands with Paradox, they listen to the community and interact with us and make great games. What else can one wish for? If they also work on the PnP my friend will be thrilled to play his Tremere he spent a few years on again and i my Brujah. I just hope they will work on an RPG with Obsidian similar to Pillars of Eternity. For a strategy game i will have to see how they will work on it. | |

| Bit of a ramble here, I have no idea if this is going to make the sort of sense I mean it to.
But the WOD MMO, obviously could have worked. However, the problem is obvious. In comparison to a single-player game, where you can place one character into a role, and have the story follow them, it is well known that for MMO's, you either have the story of story where the same plot is followed for every player(and just kind of never really questioned, technically, why you have several dozens of "chosen ones" or heros running around), or the sort of story which makes the idea of many people in the same technical role works. The ideas might have been nice, all of them obvious things from the lore, i.e players being part of the Camarilla, able to get to be Primogen, Princes, etc, able to possibly start either as a human and eventually become Kindred, and everything else. One of the problems that exists with all that, is the possibly easy loss of the story. Especially since the one thing that MMOs and any game with Mulitiplayer tends to advertise on that basis, and leave little to the actual bloody STORY. Even if they don't the story tends to be flimsy as all hell, if only to allow the sort of freedom that MMOs are known for.
It's like this, the trailer should get you interested in the experience. Give you a reason why you want to play the game. If the only reason is to play with other people, at least as far as the trailer suggests, then what is the point? Having the option is not the problem, nor is it at all a bad thing. The problem is the focus. Are we here to experience at least an okay or good story, if not a great one? Or are we here for some meaningless points?
More to the point...I'd hope for a game that has the sort of atmosphere of Bloodlines, obviously what is loved about the game and VtM in general, alongside the sort of open world that the TES games have, even if it might be just restricted to one big city, and maybe even some of the things that are possible in the Assassin's Creed series - hell, the look of Syndicate, or rather...Victorian London, is it? In the middle of the night with the rain...lovely.

| I'm cautiously optimistic. At the very least the franchise is now in the hands of someone who wants to do something with it, which is a big improvement in itself. | |

Welcome back Shabutaro, it's wonderful seeing you posting in here again! Checking for new versions of TFN Â you say? Well maybe I'll just have to get back to work on that! - Jad.3 wrote:

Anyway: "We're trying to get in contact with Paradox Interactive regarding if we can get the permission to restart Vaulderie. We'll keep you in touch with the latest news as it develops." Seeing Vaulderie go back into full swing would be so awesome! I absolutely love Bloodlines, the story, characters, etc... however the graphics are so dated that it's hard to turn off a game like Skyrim and go back to Bloodlines. It takes a few days to get readjusted to the 2004 style graphics. I'd love to see Vaulderie completed and TFN converted over to the new game engine.

| You two are lucky, it takes a few days for my eyes to stop burning. After that I'm fine though, I just need to stay away from surfing photots on new games coming out or I'll start crying again. | |

Seconded. I'm not one to need fancy graphics, just a consistent style, and Bloodlines doesn't look that awful. I mean, compared to some of the games from the 90s which we sell at work, it is really not so bad. As for the news, I'm not hyped. I'm going to wait and see - though hopefully this means we can get Bloodlines on GOG without the goddamn DRM, which would be a blessing for the modding scene in general, seeing how problems have been cropping up due to Microsoft's "update" for Windows 7, 8 and 10. (Though, of course, I can't give any insider information on that - not that I have any, working in support and not acquisiton or anything like that.)

| I indeed quite like the graphics, what keeps me off Bloodlines these days is that I've already done all of it and it has nothing new to offer me as it is. The moment it does I'm right back on it. | |

That's true, actually - I started working last month in customer support at GOG. I'm responsible for everything German and handle other stuff as well, as needed.
