I have known about the first problem, it is being rediscovered periodically, like when British acidic rain killed forests in Sweden in 1930s... Problem fixed, forgotten, now again... Interesting nonetheless. They forgot to mention that Western US coast is systematically pepperd with arsenium laced dust from Gobi desert, that was goiung on for millenia, but now increased dramatically because of overgrazing driven desertification...

Seriously, did you know that my home voievodeship (Wielkopolska) is known as Pyrlandia (potato Land). Mostly because it produces most of Polish potatoes per capita. And vodka.
