Those retards have three different alphabets? What a gigantic waste of time and effort

Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji.

Kanji is the main pictoral writing system, hiragana is basically a hack to make kanji work properly, and katakana is for writing foreign loanwords.

Nothing against japanese, - it is somewhat simple, no wonder I sometimes mix in some svahili - but the society is nuts, I go ballistics on third "sumimaseeeeeeeeeen!"

As for writing Japanese, all the mess results from the fact that Chinese characters do not work well with a language with a ton of grammatical prefixes and suffixes that do change the meaning.

Let me guess. The tl:dr is that "Chinese" people are actually many different ethnic groups with distinct languages who share a writing system? And they get away with it because the writing system is pictorial and not really that dependent on the spoken language?

Not even that, as the different speech patterns mean that even in logograms (only 5% are actual pictograms) it may not be mutually intelligeble between distant enugh chinese languages (dialects, as the Party insists). But as China defaults to Empire, there has to be an Imperial Nation, even if it is a bunch of them held by a shoelace...

I certainly agree that Google has too much power and something ought to be done about it. But the core problem is that it doesn't have a serious competitor.
