| OK, this is not exactly "Diablo II on Nightmare mode," but ...
I like to sell all my weapons before I head to the each installment of the main quest line. Anyone else do this, or something else just to add a little (or a lot) more challenge?

| I just can't give my knife away. Or my Glock. It's the only memorial I have from the poor Igor, who confused his friends with salmon, and got shot for it. - | |

| I don't sell, but I also almost never use firearms. I'd rather go for the bat, then the fireaxe (the one in the ocean house), then the hook, and oly use the shotgun sometimes, or the arbalete for the museum.. | |

| I didn't realize there was an Axe in the oceanhouse until you guys started talking about it. I need to play that whole mission again. Everytime I get in the oceanhouse I always jump over the steps so I don't fall through the floor... which saves me time in there. The basement always scares me so I try to avoid it. | |

| The fireaxe is in the bar under the upstairs, left room (the bar just before the kitchen).

For this game, you're playing. Next time it might be somewhere else -

| I've found the fire axe in the bar, and at the top of the stairs behind the sofas in the corners (watch out for flying phones!). Can't remember if I've found it anywhere else. | |

| I looked down on the heavy weapons the time I've gone through VTMB in tremere shoes. Neither shotgun, nor AUG made it into my inventory and I still consider flamethrower a cheat.
I also enjoy using low-grade armor in most games even when permitted to wear the high-end ones. As far as roleplay goes, I would only change clothes in haven.
Heck, I remember beating Nox with a half naked warrior in medieval pants only!

Heck, I remember beating Nox with a half naked warrior in medieval pants only! I agree with changing clothes in your haven. I stop off at my haven and take off the heavy leather before heading out to sneak around the monastery in Malibu. But the flamethrower is just good, clean fun. Unloading that baby on the Sheriff when he's down in the spotlight... ahh, smells like barbecue. Say hello to my little friend, batboy!!! (Frankly, the Tamma'lamma blade or the supershotgun take him out quicker, but I like watching him squirm in the flames, hehehe.)

Cheating is not necessary. A change of tactics may be required, but you get more than enough XP to raise yourself high enough to take out Ming Xiao, the Sheriff, etc. Of course, my rule has always been, "If the game lets you do it, it's not cheating." Before going through the Warrens, I always load my inventory with as many guns as I can pick up or afford, preferably the ones that you can sell for more than $12. When you open those boxes in the Warrens, you find ammo for every gun you currently have. I close the box without taking anything, dump my guns, and then go back to the box. Voila! There are now weapons in the box, matching what you had in inventory. Then I take them out of the sewers to the Red Spot, and sell them to Slater. You can get a maximum of three sets of weapons this way, which can add up to a couple of grand when sold. (I won't say where the boxes are; this requires exploration.) It's a quirk of the game that I feel no qualms about taking advantage of, since it doesn't allow me to get money other ways, like robbing pedestrians or selling the thin-bloods to Vandal, in the blood bank.

Oh, but you've missed out on the fun reloading good ol' Colt a hundred times! - PGM1961 wrote:

That could effectively qualify as a bug abuse. Eh...

| I often cheat to get the non-combative skills (seduction, security, etc.) to the max, and then only waste XP in disciplines and combat attributes and skills. This way i can still get challanging game (sometimes ) and have access to all options avaiable. | |

| When I've reached Hollywood, and the warrens I usually don't need more money. Even with the email college I usually have used up all courses at that point, and I don't need a lot of ammo either. Early in the game, the matter is a bit different. I usually go back from the beachhouse two or three times to drop all the weapons I can get there on the beach, so I can collect them later and sell them to Trip. For the rest, I can get a knife and a glock for free. What else do I need with obfuscate and dementation? - | |

In a couple parts of the Warrens, there are actually two little offices with stairs leading up to a door. Those doors lead out to the Hollywood sewers, right next to the manhole behind Tawni's apartment building. You can sell stuff, and then go back into the Warrens. These offices are in the levels with the grating in the center of the corridors, with the water flowing underneath. The boxes I spoke of are on the same levels. And yes, aqui, this may be taking unfair advantage of a bug. Them's the breaks.

- This is usually the point where I stop scrimping a saving for the email college, and get whatever I want. Which, like you, isn't much. With this cash, I can finish off the college, and have money left over for the Heavy Leather in Chinatown. (Funny thing is, I don't even wear it that much. Unless it looks cool.) I hardly use guns, ever. In the FU Syndicate building, I use a captured shotgun to knock out the electric zappers on the ceiling, and my Glock to blow the tanks in the fire room. You also need a firearm in the Museum, to get through the glass into the room with the fetish that Pisha wants. (For some reason i can't break it with fists or axe...) Other than that, I use melee weapons. Oh, and I use the flamethrower to make the Sheriff writhe in pain. It prolongs the battle, but it amuses me.
