| I know it's a great thing for story consistency that we have uneditable posts for the RP, but I just noticed a rogue " 's " in my last post, and it's driving me nuts. But I think it also kind of lends the narration a little bit of a ruski accent in that first sentence, which is delightful. | |

| Those italics are the ones who are throwing me off, to be honest. | |

I empathize; after one of my posts, I realized that I'd left out a word. Fortunately it was a small one, which had little effect on the meaning. Most here would probably not notice the difference anyway, since English is not their native language. Considering the way many people in Oklahoma and Texas (my state) commonly speak, it's ironic that you and I are worried about our grammar. Then again, I've always had people tell me that I sound too 'edumicated'. "Oh, you musta gone ta one'a them fancy four-year colleges! Ain't you speshul! Ah s'pose two years of Tractor Repair school wasn't enough for you. I guess yore gonna start drinkin' yer beer with a pinky in the air, isn't that right, Mr. College Boy?

Hahaha, well, I've been a Texan as well, before moving to Oklahoma. xD But Dallas, where I lived, doesn't really count. Since the induction of the airport, they're too cosmopolitan to retain the usual "Texan Drawl," so alas, I can't say I was "eedjicated intuh speakin' that-a-ways." The only thing remotely different about the way I speak is that when I say "won," it doesn't sound like "one," but instead sounds like the spanish name "juan." No fucking clue where that came from, but it's how I've said it since I remember. All other words I pronounce are pretty much ultra-vanilla sounding american-english. xDD I pay extra mind to grammar because I had a speaking problem when I was young, some sort of mentally-induced muteness, I could never get a word out. As soon as I started writing, around the end of middle school and the start of high school, I was able to fix the disconnection between thoughts and words that I was suffering from, and kind of busted out of that whole speech-constraint. It's not like I had a stutter or anything, it's just that I couldn't for the life of me find a thing to say. Even today, I can spend a day or two without speaking a word, which spooks a lot of people out when I do speak, because it has a certain degree of eloquence, coupled with the fact they are shocked because "it speaks, and turns out has a lot to say." At least for just that instance. :B

| I've already mixed past and present tenses in one of my posts. I just let the error go thinking it would do more to humanize me, make me more accessible, you know? I love the italics. An aversion to italics is what happens when The Smurfs eat one's soul. The world, on the whole, is just a little less pretty after they've had their fill but, isn't simison's loss worth the gain of knowing where blueberries and baby giggles come from? | |

| You guys would rather have something else to differentiate speech and action? If italics bother you we can go with normal text and inverted commas.. I mean as long as we all understand each other (victor acres the hell out of me though, but that is just perfect for the character), we can have it that way if you prefer :-)
I'll go and correct mistakes once I'm on a real computer ;-) to role-play on your iPhone is just so wrong ! XD But the iPhone corrects my errors as I type.. Agh English is my third language, I hope it doesn't affect you guys too much :-(

| I'm fine with the italics -- I'm getting used to it now. It would be about the same trouble using quotes, or parentheses. If I have to emphasize something, I underline it. My vote (if we're voting) is to keep it as is, and don't switch midstream.
Role-playing via Iphone? That's blasphemy! LOL Careful with Autocorrect, though... it can lead to some humorous mistakes.

| Hey you're talking to the girl that had had roleplay sessions in THE FUCKING SUBWAY MAN ! And not "little line with a few people", I'm talking rush hour, most busy line in the city \o/ I'm on a computer now, I'll get to you soon (the thing is my Chrome underlines red every English word since it's set in French, but my Iphone has the English keyboard too, which corrects most mistakes, except for names... like.. answer >< crap I can never spell that correctly !) | |

| I'm perfectly fine with the italics as well, if I slow down as I read. :3
"Answer" is a weird word. o:
Haha, rush hour roleplay, you go, woman. xD
And have no worries, your english skills are impressive. C: Especially since you speak another couple of languages to boot. It makes me so lazy in comparison. D:

Yes, they definitely are. But I know what you're thinking, Claudia; I have the same trouble, too, but I'm expecting myself to write and speak English per-fect-ly because since ... hell, since 5th grade, I've been "the girl who is so friggin' good at English". I have a reputation to lose! Anyway, I think I finally got a grip on the Italics, too. I just need to figure out where to place some space between my 'sentence blocks', preferably so that it doesn't look stupid or hack'n'slashed by a random 'adventurer'. Practice, practice, practice...

| Everyone here speaks English very well, even the Americans like myself. Eliza and Claudia, Don't worry about your English skills... they are much better than my Spanish, which is awful. - Eliza wrote:

Practice, practice, practice... LOL When I read this, I had a vision of my writing being attacked by random adventurers. Some chapters that need trimming would go untouched, while others that are essential to the plot would be destroyed. And naturally, there would be little puddles and piles of dung everywhere, because there are never any bathrooms while adventuring.

| Lol yes American is an acceptable English Mine was quite good when I was at school, now I'm a College Student in Languages, so it's easier than highschool (It's been about 3 years since I didn't practice English daily, so I'm rusted now.. but I'll work on it ! promise, I'm downloading Law and Order to train my ear again ! next, it'll be House MD ^^) (Eliza, I'll be available on skype a bit later tonight, now I'm off to eat) | |

| That is a good idea. Watching tv shows in other languages. 0:
I'll have to see about getting a netflix account soon, so I can start watching french tv and movies. I started with listening to some french music, but due to a recently obliterated laptop, I only have the music from the few albums whose cd's I physically own, which has caused my practice at the language to plummet. So sad. ;C

| *&%$&^%*&( it to ()(&^^#$%^&*!!!
I hate it when I post something to the RP thread and miss a typo. Don't know why I wrote Corinne when I know it's Corinna. She's even one of the vamps my character met, and I still fuxxed it. (sigh)

| *whistles innocently and tries to avoid looking at the 'Edit' button* Normally I would offer to correct any and all mistakes I find (or any which are pointed out), but seeing how friggin' long your posts always are, I rather like to pretend there's nothing wrong. I know that typos can make you go crazy and want to push your head against a wall repeatedly if you can't correct them - at least I want to do this sometimes - but correcting them all would take forever. Let's just go on loving to hate good old Murphy. | |

| Long? Moi? Not as long as some. (cough Sio cough) Anyway, I don't expect you or Claudia to correct typos, grammar, etc. As you said, just pretend they're not there. At least it's not lolspeak. "I r vampireh; u r vampireh 2? I can haz vitae?" | |

| I need more foreign language media! xD
Americans are at a huge language learning disadvantage. All the entertaining stuff in foreign languages are in specialty shops or online only, making most studies strictly textbook. I hate textbooks.
