| I've had this game since it came out and had it put away since it was so buggy. YouTube actually got me back into it with the patches from Wesp and then finding this forum and what you guys have done. Anyway...
I downloaded FN. Created a Character under Baali. Some reason Serpentis got included in the disciplines.
Is Rest for the Wicked a MV? IF so, this is what happened...first time using it in front of a group of NCP's a violation (in front of the Asylum.) Moved to a different part of SM, just outside of the Hospital and used the discipline again. It worked as normal, but no MV.
Another small bug, in the diner NCP woman with the beverage - she drinks, but the can just floats in front of her.
I thought that this might be from my installation, not sure though. I reinstalled fresh. I started vanilla once, only so that the save folders and config folders are created in the actual vampire directory. Installed FN.
I run Windows 7 (64 bit) home. If I install a patch or mod to the game, windows tends to put things into it's vituralstore and messes things up.

| Rest of the Wicked is a Masquerade Violation if you use it in front of witnesses. Like feeding, if your target is alone, it's alright, but if someone else sees it, you're screwed. This is well described in your charactersheet, put your mouse in the first level of Daimonion and read it The can thingy is probably just a glitch (it happens). I'll let Zer0 get you an explanation about the fact that somehow you managed to get Serpentis, but I guess it's the kind of "weird strange bug that happens, nobody knows why/how, but then it disappears leaving us with a WTF face". Uncle, I think Malkav doesn't say he can't pass the tutorial, but that some Serpentis powers can only be used when under Obfuscate, and under Obfuscate, the hotkeys have to be redone each time. You smart programmers need to take the interface out and create a whole new discipline system (cuz mousewheel is just "wrong"), either with buttons to clic or hotkeys (an action bar in the bottom of the screen), but that will go with my awesome idea of adapting Bloodlines to IPad... | |

| The thing about the can is just another of the well known inaccuracies of the bloodlines graphics. Same as Tourette moving her arm with the revolver right into her breasts. Claudia, you can edit the config files, so that you don't need the mousewheel any longer. But you have to use an editor, and do it manually. You can't set this up un the options menue. For my personal setup I have exchanged the camera zoom with the inventory and discipline scrolling. It looks like this in my config.cfg now: bind "KP_MINUS" "invprev" bind "KP_PLUS" "invnext" bind "MWHEELDOWN" "+camout" bind "MWHEELUP" "+camin" - | |

| I came through another issue. I'm not sure if anyone else has encountered this yet either or if this is just a freak occurrence. This just happened today and I wasn't even playing FN. So here goes... Virus or unwanted program 'TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen5 [trojan]' detected in file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire\dlls\vampire.dll. Action performed: Deny access The file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire\dlls\vampire.dll' contained a virus or unwanted program 'TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen5' [trojan] Action(s) taken: The file was moved to the quarantine directory under the name '4a4c3a00.qua'. Scanner - Malware Found I use Avira Personal Free antivirus. The event is not calling the file a virus rather it's being called malware and the program is removing it and putting it into quarantine. Any ideas? Is this a false positive? I work with computers, but I'm more the hardware/engineering side rather than software. Sorry for being such a pain in the ass. | |

| When TFN Beta was first released, a small virus got into the program and was detected by Symantec on a few of the testers machines. This was reported to Symantec and now, those with an updated version of Symantec sometimes detects TFN as suspicious.
It's possible that Symantec shared this information with your free virus scanner software and now mark Bloodlines.dll as an infected file. It's hard to truly know but I'd say it's probably a false negative. I'm still working with Symantec on getting TFN on their white list.

| Spent the last two days trying to get TFN back up. It ran fine at first. Then, suddenly, it would crash every time I tried to load a save or start a new game. Had been noticing a little virus message about one of the files. Same as above. So did a massive virus hunt, and reinstalled everything from scratch. Didn't work. What did, was turning off the virus scanner I'm using. (AntiVir ) Seems that file was getting detected, probably by a recent virus defination update. And that was crashing the program while the AV waited for me to tell it what to do. Thought I'd pass word, in case anyone else runs into this problem. Now, I'm just trusting you lads haven't actually put a virus in there. Best not, or I"ll have to send word for the nearest Justicar to investigate this matter more fully. Anyway, this is my first post here. And wanted to complement you on an excellent mod. Bloodlines is my all time favorite RPG. Much as the Masquerade is my favorite table top, and untill WoD online arrives. (IF ever. ) What else do we WoD fans have on the computer that's worth while? Especially as my friends all got to old to want to play it table top anymore. | |

| Hey Nic, welcome to the forum of bloodsuckers international Thanks for the compliments. If you're intersted, ask Claudia if she has an opening on her forum roleplay here at TCI. Best send her a PM. Then you can agree on the terms without the other players knowing beforehand. Ultimately the Masquerade is all about subtlety and intrigue. - | |

| I do have a couple of openings possible ;-)
About everything else, you have to play at least once Redemption. If you can, read also every Wraith book you can encounter. Especially the Shoah one. About the wod online I guess we will see in the grand masquerade what's new ! We had a topic about it in the general section :-)

| Why, that's a simply splendid invitation. And I thank you both for it. Don't be suprised to hear from me soon. As to Redemption. Did play it long ago. Got to the... second city I believe it was? Graphics card couldn't handle the snow well, and was never able to finish it at the time. Oh, a topic? Shall have to investigate that. What we need, is a nice skinny kindred. To go sneak through the airducts in Atlanta at their development studio. | |

Can I wear a collar with a rope so you can walk me around? Welcome to TCI Mr. Masterson. Sorry about the virus mix up and thank you for posting your fix for it. One of these days Symantec will hear my pleas and put TFN back on the white list!

| Good evening, bloodsuckers.
With the amount of experience with VTMB and with VTMB: Camarillia Edtion (including being a beta-testing for 1.2) I was very eager to download and experinece Final Nights. Now what I found in the character generation part has me wondering as it which are bugs and which are not. In example:
1. Male only clans: I'm the kind of person who plays female characters so I was disappointed that some of the clans don't have female clan members.
2. Missing female meshes: One of the clans, the warrior clan... can't remember the name... is missing the female meshes. It says there is a female option for the clan but no female was shown.
3. No Clan History: Now this one isn't really surprising to me since we are dealing with already very narrow defined clans here but I was wondering if this was on purpose or is something missing.
I noticed one person in the threads here mentioned running even when he wasn't pushing the button. This happens under normal VTMB and is probably connected to the mouse interface. The same is true of crashes happening during character generation. This is a carryover from the original game.

The reason the Saburi, Assamite, Baali, and Samedi clans lack a female option, is that they weren't finished by the time of the 1.0 release. They are going to be included in a future release, however. - Horosha wrote:

The Assamite clan does have three history options, but the rest have none. It is intended to add histories in the next update though.

| The Osebo female should be there. But I have heard about that problem before. I don't know what causes this problem. In my copy she turns up as she should. You should check the file -bloodlines\vampire\vdata\clandoc000.txt with a texteditor. Search for player_brujah and look if the model paths for the female armors are there, and not commented out. Commentary indicator is // "F_Body0" "models/character/pc/female/brujah/armor0/brujah_female_armor_0.mdl" up to armor 3, and hands shared. - | |
