| -Self-Commenting Maybe this is a bit of an odd concept, but with the various mirrors in the game(nevermind that they don't reflect everything), having the character say something about their looks, mood, etc, might be a nice addition. Not anything that is voiced though(keeping with the idea that its your character), just text. A few things would be constant(such as your character using the mirror in the Santa Monica haven, and admiring themselves), while some others could be dependent on the clan, and the point in the game.
-Companion Characters No, not like the well-known mod. Though I do have the basic idea in mind, I'm thinking more like having companions for certain parts of the game, like Yukie at the Kuei-Jinn Temple. They would either be there for some reason, and they might be fully accepting of your help(just as you might want/need) their's. For some places, they may be there because they where captured, became trapped, etc. And you might see fit to help them, to which they agree to assist you. Though no matter the reason they are there, you could just as easily see fit to decline their help(namely if you want the challenge of the level, or just think you can do it on your own).
Perhaps places like these:
Warehouse - You find a Kindred that the Sabbat are holding, and they obviously aren't Sabbat. He or she agrees to help you take them out, if you agree to release them. This could be dependent on whether or not you have a few blood packs to spare.
Grout's Mansion - A odd little malk who simply wonders about the house, maybe he knows about Grout's status as a Primogen, and wants to know why he hasn't been around.
609/Warrens - Perhaps a choice here? Between a Nosferatu who Andrei has captured, and a Toreador who is down in the Warrens for some bloody reason.
Kuei-Jinn Temple - There is already Yukie for the beginning of the level, but what about a Vampire, of whom the Kuei-Jinn are trying to test, similar to the Mandarin's experiments? Thought they aren't trying to be so, well, they aren't looking for the data.
Venture Tower - This could vary quite a bit, depending on what ending you are going for. Strauss could sent along a Tremere to assist you, while the Anarchs could send either a Brujah or Gangrel.

There could be a problem, as in TFN Dementation had to be removed for Serpentis. And in CE, a lot of peole play Malks, so another clan would be more interesting for assistance. - Quote :

For what reason could a Toreador be down in the warrens? Got flushed down the toilet, while admiring herself in the above mentioned mirror? - Quote :

Personally I wouldn't want any of those around me in a combat situation -

Not something to show the character as vein or whatever else applies, but something a little more relevant to the character, such as them staring at the mirror once arriving at the Santa Monica haven and getting a good look at themselves(and having the inevitable, if brief panic attack that a Vampire would, mostly if the embrace wasn't by choice), or standing at any of the Haven mirrors and going, "Yeah, no reason not to admit it, this is what I am". - Childe of Malkav wrote:

I was thinking of one that found out about the issue, and got down there through some other outlet, or one that found out about it through Issac, and decided to investigate(With the displeasure of even having to contemplate going down there). Then there was also the idea of it being such, since the choice would be between Strength/knowledge(i.e the Nos would be strong, and know where the Warrens are), and Speed/defense(the Toreador would be fast, and could defend herself). - Childe of Malkav wrote:

Not a bad idea. Though that would have me laughing, as it has the invariable "She really went and tried it..." go across my mind. - Childe of Malkav wrote:

- For some builds I wouldn't either, namely if I wanted to go through the game quickly(especially getting to the end). But with each companion, ideally you'd be able to decline the help.

| No Torrie ain't never not go not ever into the sewers. Clear? Other than that, I like the idea. Maybe, if you saved some poor neonate in the warehouse, you may be able to call him to help you on a mission; or he would simply come after you hit Andrei and follow you into the sewers. But I guess you would have to be able to control your companion somehow (more work), how is it done in the Companion mod? | |

But I guess you would have to be able to control your companion somehow (more work), how is it done in the Companion mod? I've never really played it myself, but from what I've seen, you talk to them, and one of the options is "<Possess>", which is related to the item you need to get before getting companions. While I like the general concept, having it be similar(i.e having some sort of function to switch to the party member), would likely take some effort make it work. Unless the dialogue history menu could be recoded into a switch menu, similar to what was done for the Clan Quest mod(where it was made into a list of gained/possible achievements).

| No switching. Just st in the lines of "stand your ground", "defend", and "havoc". | |

Yeah, that was pretty much my idea. Having these companions work just as Yukie and Barabus does in the game now. Aside from giving them commands like that(which probably would be done with a simple dialogue), they would hopefully attack anyone your not, and if your feeding on someone, they wouldn't start killing your meal. Oh, and of course the option to decline their help(if they are offering it, that is), or in the case of a captive, you would have the option to save them, though still declining their help.
