I was thinking about more mechandise for Mr Ox.
First of all, my Setite must buy the cobra. And perhaps the alligator to give the fishtank a more Nile-ish feeling.

And then I was thinking about some new occult items. But items that also have a disadvantage. Perhaps something like the "purse of the miser" It gives a bonus on haggling, and a malus on seduction.

I will go for that Purse of the Miser lol! Having items that offer an advantage and disadvantage at the same time is a good idea! Why haven't I thought about it?

I think buying stuff for your haven would be fun, but as I am only just starting to understand how items (visible and invisible inventory slots, etc.) work, how would it be possible? I would imagine that in the case of buying something like, say, the cobra, it would need to be "delivered" to one's haven? Maybe there could be spots to place items, like the jade statues in the temple (tables, shelves)? Ack, my brain is not storming well.

I think new occult items would be good. Because of Mr Ox's comment that he sells things "many would call cruel," I always thought there should be hands and eyes and items of black magic for sale!

I like the purse of the miser! A good tradeoff, I think. A miser would make a lousy date, after all.

Maybe eyes can be used again? A bonus to perception, maybe, or Auspex (for those that have it). I can't think of a flaw. There IS an occult item for perception, though. I confess, my thoughts were an extra quest harvesting Rosa's eyes (Eyes of a Seer or something). Have to be a price to pay in Humanity.

For items in the haven, that has to be prepared. I'd have to place them on the map and hide them. Then the dialog file must be set up accordingly. I.e. you purchase and pay for them, and on the next visit at your haven, they get unhidden (have been delivered) Same thing as with the poster quest.
So things like that are not to be expected for a 1.0, or 1.1 version.

Flaw for the eyes could be that you have to carry them visible to be usefull. Resulting in Charisma, and/or Appearance loss. Perhaps even a chance for masquerade or criminal violation, if a cop or hunter sees you using them.

What I would give for a map editor... I've been wondering if it would be possible to have things like that set in the apartment, but I am still learning how things work, after all.

Sometimes it feels like occult items are just...there, so a flaw as severe as a violation of some sort would be great! No problem for a Samedi, but tricky for a more social vampire. Would force me to go back to my haven and pick and choose the right items and weapons for the mission at hand!

I was thinking of some more traditional ones, like the Hand of Glory. For characters without Auspex, etc., it would be a useful way to see in very dark places. Or maybe it would boost your perception, and of course it would be a Masquerade Violation and make it impossible to sneak. I well remember the first time I thoughtlessly equipped a torch while sneaking up on a hunter. I got what I deserved! Rolling Eyes

I have ideas that do not involve boosts to perception, I swear.
