I think destroying art is a bit out of character for a Toreador, so it would be better if a character from that clan gets more experience for refusing the slashterpiece queste than for actually doing it.

What do you think?

It doesn't seem like you should get experience for not doing anything.

Also, does any other clan get experience in special situations like that?

In my opinion if a Toreador destroys art, his brethren won't be pleased with his decision at all. It will be interesting if the Toreador clan punish you somehow for destroying the paintings. Thus you have to decide if experience is more valuable to you than your clan's approval.
Maybe VV or Isaac will trigger a special dialogue script where they will tell you how disappointed they are with your actions and you will lose money, item or whatever.

Why not do that for every clan? Toreador would be the most affected automatically, because their shift would be doubled.

In my opinion maintaining your humanity should be harder in this game. I mean, I've actually tried to play as an inhuman monster, but it's really not possible unless you wantonly kill everybody you feed from.

You could just turn down the quest to remain in character.

Plus there is the fact just because you are Toreador does not mean you revere ALL art. Your sire could have chosen you for literary skills or dramatic interpretation, or even musical ability.

Everyone is a critic - who more so than an immortal with a penchant fo the arts? Wink

Toreadors adore art. Even if they have literature skills that doesn't mean that they will agree to destroy paitings.
There should be some penalty if you chooce to obey Jeanette's order.

These people are fully characters, not cookie cutter caricatures. Toreador may embrace other artistic types, but that doesn't mean that every single toreador reveres everything that has ever been painted.

Besides, once again, we really don't know much about who the character is or why they were embraced.

Sadly the histories don't supply us with enough to ever really know, you almost have to decide how you are going to forge your character and the choices YOU make determine your own characters personality (likes and dislikes).

I'd like to agree with you on this, but if you want ot sucessfully play the game ,your choices are rather limited. I remember one of my games when I managed to piss that bloody prince off, so got thrown out of the tower with orders to go to the museum but no keys... scratch

That's really interesting, actually. Was the game basically unwinnable, or did you have to find some other way into the museum?

The console is your friend cheers Wouldn't be too hard to summon up the keys, most of the items are named formulaically so even without knowing the exact code you could probably figure it out or look it up, or a simple reload and try not to wind up ol' princey too harshly.

Yep I had the game saved before I talked to the jocolor , so I could reload and be a bit more careful what I say. Anyway I only mentioned it as an example that you can't always make the choices you like if you want to be successful in playing a game like this.

Edit: To answer Lofgrens question, the museum didn't appear on the Taxi-map and as I had saved before talking to LaCroix, I didn't try to reenter the Tower and apologise.

IT'S DONE!

I went in last night and made the changes to the Gallery Noir Quest. If you agree to stealing the charity money in any way whatsoever you will loose 1 point of humanity, this is for ALL clans. If you tell her I will slash the paintings but will NOT steal the charity money then you will not loose humanity.

Hm... wasn't it that way before ? Every time I've stolen the charity, I've also lost 1 point of humanity.
So what's exactly the difference?

Now if you say you will, but don't, you lose one humanity.
If you don't say you will, but steal it, you lose one humanity.
If you don't say you will and don't steal it, you lose no humanity.
If you do say you will and do steal it, you lose two humanity.

Unless the latter point has been removed.

Actually I just double checked what Raziel said. It's strange but in earlier versions of Bloodlines, aka 1.2 you did receive -1 on humanity when you stole the box however at some point Wesp changed that because you no longer do. In fact I can't tell you last version I played where you were penalized for stealing the money.

Either way CE 1.1, UP 6.5, or CE 1.2 you don't get penalized for stealing the charity money, but now if you agree to stealing it you will recieve a -1 humanity penalty.

So not claiming you'll steal it but stealing it has no repercussions on humanity?

I think that Wesp's Unofficial 5.6 patch makes you lose humanity when you still the charity box.
I tried out the companion mod which is build on unofficial 5.6 and I lost humanity.

I just tried doing it with 6.5 and CE 1.1 and I didn't lose any humanity. Do I need to fix something?
