| After you complete the Sabat Warehouse you come back to Bertram, where you get the opportunity to rile with questions on Vampire Myth, a second tutorial of sorts, like during the tutorial with Smiling Jack. Except, when you start asking him about clans, he only has information about the clans present in the Vanilla Edition, not the clans that you get to use in TFN. I found this a bit frustrating and inconsistent.
But probably nigh on impossible to alter?

| Well, Bertram is the expert on the Camarilla. If you want info on the TFN clans, speak wit Akeem. - | |

| Yeah, Childe beat me to it- if you want to know more about the new clans and bloodlines, talk to Akeem. He gives you much better info on them than Bertram does on the originals. | |

| Childe, thanks.
I still haven't made as far into the game as to meet Akeem.
and er what is an Akeem? An NPC? Vampire? What clan? More importantly, when and where do you meet him? And what role does he play in the game? Only information? Or does he give you side quests?
And if he has already been discussed in this forum in other topics please forgive me, and kindly direct me to the relevant topics if you would be so kind...
But yes I am one to enjoy exhausting all the dialogue options, not just the ones that advance the plot but also those that provide general information. On Vampire Mythos, on the politics of the region, whatever.
(Again, I am minded of another game I am playing, in which you get "investigate" dialogue options, but in which game you are rewarded for using those, with the opening of "codex" entries that outline the setting of the game, and even with earning XPs for doing so. The game makes it worth your while to explore its setting.)

| Okay let me google that for you : http://www.moddb.com/mods/vtm-the-final-nights/features/the-final-nights-features
Have you read the manual ? In game, have you gon directly to the charactersheet or did you read the info on the clans (which were placed instead of the quizz to create your character)

| Claudia I usually study the manual and the wikia and the walkthroughs and any information at all that I can gather. That is not the point. I never learned anything new from Bertram that improved my game playing or my awareness of the clan I was playing. Think of it as enjoying indulging in idle chatting on current affairs. Like I have all too often stated, one of the greatest attractives in this game for me, that makes it superior to all the others, is that there is a lot of room for useless tasks that don't advance the plot in anyway whatsoever. In the same way that I enjoy listening to the radio and watching tv and something that I share with zer0 the chore of storing in drawers and other containers plot items that pertain to quests that I have already completed - and mind you this is necessary because the inventory has limited capacity - I enjoy indulging in idle chatting on current affairs. Learning the NPCs' takes on the matters at hand. I enjoy chatting with Jack, for example. Though it is not strictly necessary, in Downtown imediately after LaCroix giving me a new main quest I go to jack, to learn his particular take on the quest LaCroix has sent me on. Idle chatting. Pointless to the game and the advancement of the plot. But I find it a fascinating feature of the game that indeed Jack has always new dialogue lines pertaining to the quest LaCroix has sent me on. And think of that. The politics. Anarchs being aware of what the Camarilla is up to. The personal interest that Jack has taken upon me. Is he trying to recruit me to the Anarchs? And his prescient knowledge of what is going on. Those things make me feel that this game is much more than a game, where every action you take is geared to the advancement of the plot, but more like a slice of life, albeit not real life of course but life in another setting. It increases the escapism value of the game. And I have read in a book a definition of escapism that is incredibly positive. Once again, it is the pointless features of this game that make me prefer it above any other game I have played so far.
Edit:
But Claudia in the case of this game the first CD copy of it was borrowed, and the manual was missing. And then the CD got ruined and I had to purchase the game online, and I was not aware of a manual being made available with the online purchse... Maybe as a PDF? Indeed I will have to check that up.

| You're not thinking... I meant the mod manual, not the 2004 game manual that is, for us, useless.
You think zero found a voice to copy Bertram's? No , sadly ! And most camarilla kindred know nothing of other clans and bloodlines. So he added a NPC so Bertram would still explain camarilla clans.

| Thank you for pointing me out to this mod's manual. I might have browsed through all that zer0 posted on this mod while he was developping it, and it might have appeared as a readme when I downloaded the mod and I might have glanced at it. But indeed otherwise I might have consigned it to oblivion, considered it lost for ever. Thank you for making it available to me once again. I might indeed take a gander at it.
Yes it was great of zer0 to create a whole new NPC that is a kind of Bertram II in that he provides us with a lot of information on the mythos, the clans and sects and politics, plus a couple of sidequests.
But apparently you also keep missing my point. I am not after information on how to play the game. Hard data that will allow me to play better. As the manual would provide. I am after idle chatter on current affairs, the kind you have when you go out for a coffee with friends, in the context of the game. It is not a matter of how the conversation with Akeem will provide information that might enhance my gaming performance. It is one of the things that I love about the game, features that are as pointless as in real life idle chatter with your friends over coffee would be, though they might increase your "culture". It is not a point of how useful the information that Akeem would provide would be, but the fact that I can chat with him about current affairs. Plus, not hard data, as the manual would provide, but his opinion, his idiosyncratic take on the clans, as Bertram provides his own.
Edit. I have a mild concern. Has anybody provided a walkthrough for TFN? Namely the new sidequests that Akeem suggests? I like walkthroughs, so sue me.
