I recently picked up a DVD. Which is not too bad at all. Not great but worth looking at.
Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula, a television film released in 2000, tells the life story of Vlad the Impaler mostly accurately, but has a fictitious ending in which Vlad rises from the grave as an immortal with supernatural powers, implying he has now become the legendary vampire character.

Hmm....talk about going off the rails....I can't even count all the train cars...oh, and the corpses...oh my.
Anyway, I saw that on TV a week or so before Halloween. Not that bad, but it seems to do so much to 'realize' the story, and then it takes a supernatural angle at the end. Left me thinking "Okay, but if your ending it here, where the hell is the 'fun' part?". Not that it needs to take the same angle as the classic story but...

I don't know about 'epicness'; I was just amused by the Philosopher's 'Dark Prince of Bel Air' post, and the Fresh Prince theme song popped into my head. I didn't even watch that show very much; my ex-roommate loved it, though.

After hearing Andy Milder's 'normal' voice, I'm even more impressed by his voice acting in Bloodlines. His smarmy Eurotrash Ventrue voice for LaCroix is perfect -- you know almost from the start that you can't trust anything LaCroix says. It's even worse if you play a Ventrue... As the Prince told my character about how the Ventrue are an example to the other clans, I was almost gagging on the hypocrisy. And of course, he still ends up betraying you.
If Milder's voice acting hadn't been so good, you wouldn't hate LaCroix as much as you do.

I'm glad you like it, Philo
Lacroix's a bastard. I never liked the guy, ever, because I still have trouble finding proper Ventrue PCs and NPCs that are not a joke to their clan But yeah, I love to hate Lacroix, still, I don't find him as memorable as Jack, Nines, or hell, even Therese or VV.
As a ST and as a player, I always had a hard time to have proper Ventrue characters that were not a plain joke, whereas I can get reigns with about everything else (hell, even original giovanni characters, or even setites, for christ's sake ) ; I can pull up a Toreador character that is neither sensitive, humane, nor artistic, and still have him being part of the clan... but still ! The Ventrue, I just.. can't. They seem too blank <_<
