e-mail college

I'd like to make some changes to the email college. Place it on more public terminals, or even turn it into regular evening classes. That would make it more important for pcs to start courses only well fed and with a decent research feat, to avoid frenzy and masquerade violations.
Any ideas how that can be done without leaving the Nossies out?

You mean adding laptops/computers to the main hubs? Or in the buildings/smaller zones?

Something like the internet cafe would be good. But there must either be some location in every part of town, or at least in Santa Monica for it.
The main problem is to find something that is public enough to guarantee a frenzy with a masquerade violation, if your bloodcounter drops too low after joining a class, but private or dark enough for Nossies to go there without blowing the masquerade by their appearence alone.

I don't remember the internet cafe specifically, but I remember when I did play through as a Nossie I was amazed at how many places I could go and people I could talk to without getting any masquerade violations. I had pretty much forgotten I was a Nossie after a while and just played the way I normally would for the most part.

Don't they have to get into the cafe anyway for the "kafka" thing. Will frenzy pull you out of obfuscate? or will you be an invisible killing machine?

And ultimately, I think the "guarantee a frenzy with a masquerade violation" idea is nice but flawed. Easier to just set a higher blood threshold to be able to take the course to begin with if that's your goal. All the frenzy does is guarantee a reload...

How about leaving the Nossies out? Everyone but uglies has to go someplace public to learn, while they can stay in haven and study via Schrecknet. They have it difficult enough already in my eyes. How about some little quest early on for an ugly PC to access the college?

mouser, my main goal is to make learning easier for those, who increase their learning feat. Not make it impossible for those who don't. Just a bit harder and more risky.

Jad, that could work. Perhaps a small job for Knox to get a password for the schrecknet.

What troubles me -and I haven't played as Nossie- the first time you hear about Schrecknet is from Mitnick. So, lets not call it Schrecknet

It's right that Mitnick is the first one to actually talk about the Schrecknet to you. But if you check Jeanettes or Thereses computer you can find Bertrams email address @schrecknet.vtm
So it wouldn't harm if I use the term schrecknet in the path without actually drawing attention to it.

So what about Jeanettes or Thereses comp for the first college interaction? And if u meet Bertram he will connect ur pc in ur appartment to it for a few bucks. I can't really think of other places besides the schrecknet terminals.. maybe the laptop in the foxy shop from the eastern vampire?
