| Zer0, check the email "The master" on the haven pc. There is a syntax error (forgotten") in the dependency. - | |

| This is what I have...
Email { "subject" "The master" "sender" "a friend" "body" "A true master has played the entire game before the first move." "dependency" "G.Story_State >= 90 // and G.Story_State < 100" changed by malkav, so it's accessible }
I don't see anything wrong with it.

| You have to put in closing " after the 90. I have forgotten to replace them, when I commented out the and part to make the mail accessible. If you don't remove the <100 part, it can only be read while you are in the Santa Monica haven with Jack, before you set out to the taxi. I don't know if you have kept the computer there active, when the player gats a new haven. But most people won't think of checking their mail in this situation... - | |

Supposed to be yeah. You didn't get an email? Strange.

| Maybe, I wrote it a bit unclear. I recieved the Cathayan quest from Tung (but as we figured out already) it didnt start/had no options at the cath computer.
Just wanted to check if this is the same quest or if the Knox message was there to initiate another quest.

| The Knox note has been there since 1.0, personally I've never had any problems with it. | |

| What is the Knox note supposed to start?
If it is the Cath quest and someone checked his emails already, wouldnt it be cool to remove that note? People might get confused why there isn't sth new.

| I always pick it up when I'm heading towards the Elizabeth Dane, not entirely sure when it spawns exactly. | |

The note is unhidden if Bertram_Check == 1 however if you read the email then it sets Bertram_Check = 2 so the note will be hidden the next time you enter the SM_Hub. So once you read the email, Knox's note should rehide itself if you haven't read it already.

| Knox note didn't hide. I read the email about cathayans quest ages ago. Went downtown did a whole lot of quests there now to return to the docks (don't have anything left downtown).
So, in theory it shouldn't been there for me, but it was. Maybe its due to the fact, that there is a problem with the cathayan quest overall.

| It's possible yeah. The Cathayan quest is definitely broken with the version I gave you guys. I've since then fixed it though the note should've disappeared once you read the email regardless. Hmm I may have to do a quick test on my end now. | |

| I have played the quest with the fixes. And I didn't get the note. But probably it never got unhidden in the first place, because I read the email right after the warehouse, and then dealt with that part of the quest on my way to the taxi. And completed the quest before heading to the beach for the Dane. Zer0, I'm not sure how it is handled in CE1.5, where the quest finally works as supposed to. But perhaps you have to kill the notice, instead of rehiding it. - | |

| Well I just spent an hour testing this (along w/ many other things) and found that the note would unhide even if the email wasn't sent, just like Kyoden said. The note would unhide if 3 conditions were met however the email would come if different conditions were met.
To make a long story short, the conditions didn't line up between the two and now they do. I ran over to where the note was and it was there, then ran and read the email, came back and the note was gone. And the note won't display now unless the same conditions are met to display the email, it works perfect now.
