Neb's haven

Neb-uau heads into his house then shuts and locks the door.  He takes off his suit jacket and hangs it by the door.  Then he heads down to the basement and ensures that everything is ready for tonight, with fresh plastic laid out.  Once that is accomplished he heads back upstairs to the computer room.  Once there he turns on the computer and loads up Facebook.  Looking at his contacts he check to see if Neith is online.  He smiles on seeing that she is online he Opens up the chat and begins typing.  

Revered one.  A lot has occurred since I have left you with my new sire Emilio.  I contact you today on several matters.

First in the matter you have asked me to look into regarding the loyalty of Emilio and Mephisto.  While I do not yet know if he truly meant what he said, I have witnessed Mephisto telling other Kindred that he and his fellow Setites in the city would like to join the Camarilla.  I await your instruction on this.

Second a prominent Tremere has gone missing and reports show that he might be in Cairo.  His name is  Kersten and his passport number is 873-63-4287.  Any information that you can find on him would be appreciated.

The third matter is of the least import.  I thought you would be interested in learning that I am to be presented before the Ventrue Prince tomorrow to let him know who I am and that I will be in his city.  It should prove amusing.

Sending the message he sits back and awaits her response.

It takes a few minutes for Neith to log in and check her messages. The "read" little tag shows up then, and she begins typing an answer. Of course they communicate in Arabic.

"Good evening to you.
Thank you for your report. We shall see if they are true to our beliefs and if their existence benefits us in some way. I must admit I would have said the same thing, should I have been in front of Camarilla delegates. Keep an eye on them, as joining the sect locally may just be another trick, as to obtain more from them. I have heard of some others joining the Sabbat for the same reasons, without becoming Of Light.

I will look into this Tremere's whereabouts, if he has landed here. I am messaging my contact in Customs about it and I should hear from them shortly.

Of course we will have to wait and see their true intentions.  I make no judgments at this time.  I am just reporting what I have observed.

Thank you for looking into the matter of the missing Tremere.  If we can locate him and find out what he is up to it will improve my standing here in a couple of ways.  I look forward to hearing back from you on that.

I will do my best on my night of introduction.  From what I have seen our reputations in the city need to improve, though that is nothing new for our clan.

The people I have met here so far have been most kind.  The child of the missing Tremere seems friendly towards me, thought I did help in that regard.  She has offered to show me the ways of the city and it's Kindred.

I'm afraid that i don't know very much.  He is the Tremere Primogen.  There is also a strong chance that he Dominated his child as she is missing time and her computer and accounts were used to buy his plane tickets.

As for his child I have started down the road of getting her to trust me.  She is very interesting and could be useful.  I eventually hope to seduce and corrupt her.  I wish also to place her in debt to the Temple.  This should prove a most pleasurable experience if I am careful.

She acted like she never even thought about canceling the payments, so a bond is likely.

I do not know when he left the area but according to the plane tickets he arrived in Cario last night and did not have a flight out.

Finding her weakness will be the tricky part. But I will slowly work on it. I believe she is beginning to become attracted to me though.

As for her appearance, she looks like those that you know I desire most. I have to be careful as she does excite me, and I do not want her to see that yet.

The phone makes a bip. Emilio's number appear, as well as a text : "Rikki sent what you've asked".
Not a few seconds after, the door rings. It's one of Emilio's known pimps, Mus, holding by the hand a girl around six, still in her pyjama, and obviously very sleepy (or drugged with sedatives or opium). She's fairly dark skinned and has black hair, probably of Moroccan or Algerian long descent (both were French Colonies, and they are a very numerous minority in the country).
Neb will gain six blood points from her, but he has to spend one to make the film. So +5bp.

Before falling asleep, and because Neith told she'd get info "in a couple of hours", and since it was about 3am when he started diner, at 5 am and before falling asleep, he checks online. Neith has messaged a few minutes before.

"Found your guy. Name wasn't Kersten but Kerstain ; not a very good cover. Here's a picture, is it this person ?
If it is, then your Tremere is on a Hajj, or so he declared to the Customs, and he is to continue his route by land."

A picture attached of a fairly tall man with brown long curly hair, in a suit, with a suitcase, but no luggage. His skin looks a little dark for a kindred, and despite the bad quality of the picture, Neb is quick to understand that the man is wearing make up to look a little less white ; not badly done, but not up to his level.
It's a Customs picture. According to the description Emilio had made of the most important kindred, it looks like him.

Neb-uau looks at the picture and recognizes Kersten from the picture that Emilio had given him.

Thank you. I believe that is him. I will pass the information on the the right people. If we can find out what he is really up to, as I seriously doubt that a Tremere Primogen would actually be on a Hajj, I would be most grateful.

Takes out his phone and sends a text to Mephisto and Emilio.

Text Message:

Copies the photo and sends it as a message on Facebook to Emilio.

"He did met with the muslim brothers, someone followed him because he looked Kindred enough. Probably an alastor of some sort. Ah, hold on, my city contact is reaching me about it."

Mephisto takes a few moments to answer.
(Mephisto's number) "Excellent news. Kerstain is the mortal name he uses for the Hotel, if I recall. You can inform Claudia."
(Emilio) "Waitin' for the pic".
Once the picture sent, Emilio quickly confirms "That's our guy".

By the time the texts and image are sent and confirmed, Neith has logged back in.
"He presented himself as a Cursed Assamite. They seemed to buy it, as far as religious and theology is concerned. You sure he's Tremere?"

Neb-uau adds Mephisto's number to his contact list.

That is our guy and he is certainly Tremere. Cursed Assamite huh? I wonder what he is playing at.

Sends a text to Mephisto and Emilio.

Text Message:

Neith responds, as expected, with a serpent-like idea.
"I may directly contact him and put him in our debt for me not to reveal his presence to the Assamites... If that doesn't jeopardize your growth in Bordeaux."

Mephisto answers making sure Emilio gets the message as well.
"I'd rather not, selling him to the Assamites won't give us anything here, and the Assamites aren't the kind to repay favors to us, are they ? Letting Claudia know won't give us anything either, she'll probably state something like 'well, of couuurse he's lying about his clan, he's Regent Kersten, what did you expect ?'. And she'd be right. Assamite's a strange choice, we may use it against him when he'll be back..."

Responds to Neith.

Putting him into our debt would be an excellent idea. Don't inform the Assamites at this time though. I don't believe that would gain us anything, but the Tremere does not need to know that.

Sends a text to Mephisto and Emilio.

Text Message:

Sends a text to Claudia

Text message:

"I will make contact with him if I still can tonight, but most likely tomorrow. I will keep you informed"
As she sends this last message, Neith logs off.

Mephisto and Emilio don't seem to need to answer that last text.
A few seconds after the message has been sent to Claudia, however, she calls.
(Claudia) Are you sure? Kerstain is his mortal name in the Chantry. Hajj.. Isn't that, travelling for Muslims? But.. the Regent is Catholic.

She sounds really surprised. After stating Lyle is catholic, she quiets, she hesitates.

Logs off the computer and answers his phone.

Hello Claudia. Yes we are quite sure that it is him.

The voice sounds a bit hushed, the Tremere sighs quickly.
(Claudia) Oh, please accept my apologies. Good morning to you. Well.. I see. Thank you. Please do not inform other members of court if you can, I wish to inform my clan when I will manage a confirmation through other sources... It's not that I don't believe you, I do!

She lets out a little frustrated sigh again
(Claudia) I wish to avoid jumping to conclusions. I will ask my clanmate to verify with local harpies.. Thank you.

She sounds in between annoyed, calmed and releived.

While talking Neb-uau clears his Facebook chat history.

ST:

Don't worry about it. It is a genuine pleasure to hear from you. Of course I won't inform the court. When and if they find out is entirely your purview. And you are very welcome. I will see you in the evening then?

Claudia's voice isn't the most beautiful one but it's young and fresh, Neb can hear she smiles behind the phone.
(Claudia) Yes, I'll be there tomorrow early. Thank you for your discretion, I will make sure it's repaid properly. However, will Mephisto also keep silent about it? If someone else finds out through the information I gave you, you'll be responsible...

She sounds sorry, like if she didn't want it to happen. But it's a possible threat. At least not by her hands, she couldn't hurt a fly..

Listens to Claudia

I believe that he will keep silent. He has no reason to reveal the information. It would gain us nothing. Please remember though that he was also in the room when you gave all of us the information, as was Emilio. If they are indiscreet the blame can not be placed on my shoulders. Also they are my elders and I am not responsible for their proper behavior as I would be if one of them where my child.

Softens his statement by sounding kind and gentle.

(Claudia) Oh... Oh well.. I guess I understand. Was there anything else..?

She sounds fairly distant and disappointed, but she's not holding it against Neb.

Oh I wouldn't worry about it. As I said they have nothing to gain and actually much to lose by speaking. You did ask them for desecration as well when you met with all of us after all.

I do have something to tell you though, and you may not like it. Are you interested?

Claudia makes a "hm" to agree with his words. She sounds a little bit more joyful.
(Claudia) Yes, my apologies, I have never dealt with anyone for favors like that, so I wish to make sure I'm covered, if you will...

Ouh, covering her sounds like a good idea.. Damn dirty mind.
(Claudia) Something to tell me?.. I am interested.
