| Killing someone, then bring her back to life without any hope of peace, giving her the beast to fight against every single moment, without any hope of heaven, without any of god's grace, any chance of rest... Just becaus you want to have company ? And you think it's not selfish ? | |

I tried working on that with Acrimonious (I think) for a long time. It's a lot harder than you would think it would be. I've still got all the files for how far we got. IIRC, we got to the point where you could actually 'save' her, but she wouldn't realize the combat was over so you could initiate dialog with her, and then we still needed to figure out how to work her dialog in to get her back to the haven. IMO, if you can actually save her in combat there, what you say is still missing seems to be the easy part. All you need is two simple python functions. One to count the deaths of the Sabbat, and meke Heather talk when they are all down. And the other one to make her use an interesting place or scripted animation to get her moving out of sight, and tehen hide or kill the model on the map after talking to her. A fitting scrap of dialog shouldn't be a problem, as isn't changing the kill to a ScriptHide in the python that checks for Heather in the havens. -

| I'll send you what I've got if you want to look at it Malkav.
I remember this much - you've got to use a gun and you've got to be a good shot, to not shoot Heather and kill the Sabbat in time. But it can be done - I did it a few times as did Acrimonius. We played around with her hit points a lot (she starts with less than a street bum's) to try to find the right balance there.
Edit: another thing about the game was forced choices: Do you 'free' Heather or do you take the body armor? Do you have sex with Jeanette or do you save Tourette? I suspect there would have been a lot more of those choices had Troika really fleshed out the second half as well as they did the first. Ultimately, of course the choice is which faction (if any) do you join?
As an aside - is it possible to finish the game with ONLY the lone wolf ending? I've tried to piss off the Anarchs and not turn in the plaguebearer quest but they always seem to show up as an option in the end.

For getting her a bit tougher, you probably have to use something similar to what I suggested to burgermeister for his mugged hooker. Create her as a human combattant, not as pedestrian on this map. Back in the haven, she has to be spawned as pedestrian of course. Else her bloodpool won't refill on map load. Yes I would be interested in looking into it. -

You can only do that in an already modded game. Really? Where did you get the sound data of his dialoge option? - Quote :

It's the world of darkness, with horror, corruption, hopelessness I am sure batman would disagree.

I have no idea where Wesp got the sound file from, but it is not in the vanilla game. The game forced you to make a choice: you could save Heather by sending her away, or you could get the body armor and she dies, one way or another. Notice that there are no good 'happily ever after' options. That's one of the problems with Wesp's changes - he took away those forced choices (dilemmas if you will) and allows the player to do everything. If you're not convinced, load up a 'blank' game, install the official patch (1.2) and play. There will be no choice to keep her 'in the golden cage in the sky'. Come to think of it,does Heather say anything different (I think it's just an 'OK'). The only thing that changes is you have an extra response.

| That's right. There is no spoken text from Heather, just the additional player line. The vanilla game does not give this choice. If you want to avoid her dying there, you have to send her away in time. For CE I have kept the plus patch option to have her stay at home, so she won't get abducted and killed by the Sabbat. But then you have to go without the body armor, because Mercurio doesn't sell it. Personally, in most of my games, I send her home ASAP. Usually I do ghoul her in the hospital. I think, it's a quite natural reaction for a newly created vampire who has just heard about ghouls and the healing power of vamp blood from Mercurio and/or Knox. And the doctor basically tells me to piss off and mind my own business. - | |

- Its considerably better in TFN, where you could simply use Obeah as a Salubri to heal her instead of ghouling her. However, its also fairly nice ghouling her anyways. You're giving her a nice, safe home, being as nice as can be, and even if you do send her away, it's not as heartbreaking when you're playing as a Setite, Ventrue or Malkavian. Serpentis and Dominate can have her forget you and have her go back to her old life, but Dementation makes her believe the time she spent with you was all a dream, she even calls you "The Master of My Dreams". How much more "D'awww" can we fit into here?

| Or you can say "Farewell" the Baali way and use Infernal Servitor on her | |
