It's because of "where" you installed it exactly.
I think it should be installed in the /vampire subfolder and not in the vampire-bloodlines main folder.
If you install it in vampire bloodlines/vampire, it won't "overwrite" the files, and you'll end up having this :
...Activision/vampire-bloodlines/vampire/vampire/
Which is like haviong "my images" inside "my images"
the first folder will contain all the original files and the folder inside it will contain all the new ones, but the .exe always checks the "files inside the /vampire folder", not the "files inside the vampire/vampire subfolder".
The files doubled over, instead of the new files replacing the old ones.
It's why we always say : install it somewhere else, then drag and drop the folders and "merge folders" + "replace all"
