By the way, did you know that Angola was a de facto Brazilian colony before 1822? So as in a colony of a colony? More Brazilian ships and merchants traded in Luanda and Benguela than the Portuguese ones... Then they were kicked out by the metropolitan Portuguese, for obvious reasons.

But it also means yo also had rainforests and savannas (more of the latter) on the other side of the Pond, too...

It's a long term investment. People in developing countries are healthier, so they can work more, and the economies grow. And then they can do business with those nice Japanese people who provided for their healthcare.

I doubt it is more of an investment than simple PR.
Japan is basically throwing money to the poor so they can brag about it on the international stage

No one there's thinking "well if we increase the healthcare there they can work more and then...."
