Hey Guys Very Happy

Im kinda new, i have no experience with programming, but i like to call myself one of the greatest lore geeks to walk the face of the eart. Im danish, which means i spell like the blind fight. (But id like to assist in matters of lore)

So i came up with this idea, now that you got backgrounds, why not introduce actual bloodlines? Like the Ventrue Rötgrafen? Or the Nosferatu Niktuku? ((I know that playing a Tzimice or Lasombra anttitribu is a little far fetched))

Or perhabs just let you play a Ventrue Anttitribu that turned Cammy? A new set of disiplines! hurrays!

And perhabs a possibility of you entering a sort of sandbox mode, with lots and lots of side quests after the ending?

And what about you making money, and a non-dark way. Hacking? Writting?

And perhabs the choice of actually saving heather.

Or turning Sabbat!

AND! i think its kinda lousy that it never turns day, what i like about the normal PP is that you have to get indoors and sleep, or you will be roasted by the sunlight... Some kind of timer and massive fire damage should do it! ((of course soakable - but a masquerade breach))

That was a few ideas, i hope you will think about em Very Happy

And if you ever need a lore geek, then give me tell!

-Christopher

Welcome to the best forum of bloodsuckers Christopher!

Well, most of the ideas you come up we discussed earlier but thanks anyway> You may want to read older topics in TFN section to see which of your ideas have been already implemented and which turned impossible to add, to our dismay... Have fun on the forum! As a lore geek you could add to and rewitalize some old topics, maybe we have missed something important from the lore's point of view.

Where have you heard about 'rotgrafen'? Ventrue only have an antitribu which have exactly the same disciplines in the parent clan in revised edition.

Niktuku are supposed to be very low generation and hidden away with Absimilliard, with some resources saying them waking up is the first sign of gehenna...

It's difficult adding lots of quests to the game when you consider the sound files, models and areas involved are fairly limited to keep the mod to a certain standard.

You know those times where the screen fades out to black and you are in your haven? That's the passing of daytime. Making daytime maps would be a hell of a pain as well. Would mean reskinning entire areas as well as adding whole new scripts for what would be at most a few seconds of hoping you don't die.

The game is only set over a period of a few nights, about a week, you can't really get much set up or written in a week and publishing times are a bitch.

Turning Sabbat is a bit difficult seeing as you're marked for death, in general they don't have a second chance policy... Especially when they're in war mode. If there was an impasse between the Sabbat and the Camarilla they'd start being more sly, but as it is they're still in the invasion phase of entering a city.

Sunlight is only soakable with Fortitude which excludes several clans right away from surviving it.

Saving Heather is in another mod out there, not sure if any of it was going to be incorporated though. But if you love PnP, you know sometimes you just can't save people.

Rötgrafen is a bloodline of the Ventrue clan, they are descendents of the vikings..

Niktuku was just a random Nosferatu Clan I threw up. There are others the Arhimanes or the Ishtarri

I see Very Happy As i mentioned i have no programming experience what so ever

I just thought that having a daytime element in the game, would get some of the originl stress into the experience...

About the whole sabbat buisness.. I agree. But since there are alot of other things in this scenario that dosen't exactly fit, i just thought id mention it. But i see your point.

I agree, which means that most clans would have to rely on getting into their havens quickly, adding to the element of you having an actual weakness, but also the clans with fortitude would have a second or so to get indoors. A sporting chance nonetheless!

I did not know about the heather thing! Very Happy

Wow. That's a lot of (fairly major) changes you're proposing. Keep in mind that the guys who do these mods do them for free, in their spare time; and even the smallest changes involve a lot of work. The game engine doesn't allow them to change the maps, and a number of other things in the game can't be changed either. New characters require new dialogue, and new files to sync up the voice with the lip movements. There are also a set number of disciplines in the game... put a new one in, you have to take one out. And the thing with daylight... from what I've been told, I don't even think that could be done with the current engine.

There is a project - Bloodlines Resurgence - that is trying to convert Bloodlines to another game engine, which will allow maps to be changed, among other things. (Not sure of the website address, but I'm sure you can Google it.) But that project has been going on for a few years, and it looks like it will take a few more to finish.

The company that did EVE Online, Crowd Control Productions (CCP), is working on an MMO for the World of Darkness. Tentative release date is sometime in 2012. Maybe. Judging by the little information we have, it should be pretty impressive; but we don't even know yet whether that one will have daylight in the game. More info at www.planet-vampire.com

You know, if I had to choose what options to put in the game, frying on the sidewalk like a piece of bacon would be pretty far down on the list. Kind of puts a crimp in the gaming experience, if you know what I mean.

Most games I've played, if they have involved Vampires at all(namely if your character is, or will be one), the sun isn't really seen(okay, maybe seen, but never where it hurts you). The main reason is quite obvious - its annoying. Bad enough having an enemy that can spit poisonous gas at you, having to deal with that might just be enough to break something, depending on how much damage you take from being in sunlight for a few seconds.

Having it it Redemption was more of a plot point than anything else(as you couldn't deal with Luther Black any other way - even though the Lasombra discipline in the game only has 'Dark Hunter'). Even then, it isn't to hard to deal with, as long as you keep up the "crowd control', so to speak.

The only game that had it(aside from oWOD games), is DarkWatch, but even then, the sunlight just zapped your powers, and the areas that you had to fight in, were still had shadowy areas were you could use them. Even then, there were only a few "Daylight" levels, and they were pretty short.
