| Duncan notes Fred's arrival, but his only reaction as the Malkavian rushes into the Theatre is a raised eyebrow. He resumes texting.- William:
ok
- Nyx:
Done with my errand; meeting William in front of his hotel now. The young Brujah tucks his phone back into a pocket and carries his computer case across the plaza to the Regent Grand hotel. He then waits outside the entrance, not bothering to go inside.

| While Duncan texts and moves closer to the Hotel, he spots a familiar body moving, coming from the south. Miriel seems to have gotten the memo to show up, but she has taken her sweet time... To get ready, maybe. She looks all human and mortal looking as always. She doesn't hesitate as she recognizes Duncan and instead of going to the Theater, she joins the Brujah with a pleased and smokey smile. (Miri) Hey handsome! You were going to start the party without me ?

| William walks out around the same time Miriel arrives."Hey Duncan... greetings Miriel..." William stared at the Toreador a moment."I think I really need to grab myself some fast food after the execution." William gave a soft tap with his cane as he was looking in thought after he took out his cellphone and stared at the screen. "Duncan, before our little shapeshifter arrives, you should see this." he said as he help out the phone for Duncan and Miriel to take. The Tremere leaned in a bit closer, after realising that there were armed men walking the streets. Duncan and Miriel could hear him mutter something along the lines of overreacting kine before addressing them directly in a hushed tone.- Duncan & Miriel - And all the gizmo's that allows you to listen in:
"The sd card contained pictures, digital of course, according to the date in 1980, although that is obviously fake, the quality is too high and digital cameras didn't exist back then. All of them taken at night inside flats or houses, very lightly decorated, most are a mess, possibly slums. Some of the rooms resemble a build similar to Fred's haven, maybe at the same hospital," William seemed to suppress a cringe, "But not the same room, look at the protections and fortifications, that's one good hidey hole if you like to live in a dump.
Sliding his fingers a few times if Duncan doesn't hurry up and move towards the last 2 pictures, the frame reveals 2 pictures of 2 dead girls.
One was in an obvious fake halloween's 1800 gown, sitting on a rotten sofa (like the owner couldn't afford a new one and took some random one found on the streets), she was gorgeous, for a kine, William noted, early twenties and had soft brown hair, albeit the woman was fairly short in stature.
The other one naked on the floor, also good looking, but she has some more generous curves and looked fit, probably took good care of herself, she too had long brown hair, which was covering part of her face, masking it's expression.
"The halloween girl is rather good looking, early twenties, notice her stare, a commanding gaze almost, if I didn't see her unharmed chest, I'd swear she was a staked Toreador. So whichever caught her gaze as she died, it must have made an impression to remain so focussed. Maybe it was what she's seeing on the TV which we saw in the other pictures, or maybe she was demanding to be released, whichever it might be. The naked chick looks like a more fleshed out version of undead bride on the sofa, especially in the hips and boobs department, not sure if it's relevant. She too looks a lot like she's kindred. Maybe freshly in torpor? The torpor condition just freezes a vampire, would explain residual expressions. Then again, so does mortal death. But the corpses seem just a bit too preserved, hinting at young vampires or ghouls. I'll look up information on undeath aging and final death later"
"The Creepy part has to be all the newspapers and magazines garbage everywhere, somebody literally cut out eyes from the pictures and magazines and glued them all over the walls and floor. Maybe he or she wished to give the aura of 'you're always watched', or he's just paranoid, modeled the room to reflect it. It would make excellent decor for a torture room however. I don't really see any injuries, or it happened from behind or didn't leave a trace. Suffocation maybe? Poison? These aren't some super huge resolution pictures that would reveal a needle prick, if it even was on a visible part of their body, that we can see from the photo's perspective."
"One thought I harbored is that these girls might have been part of the missing students... or this could be some Malkavian's work, embrace the women, stake them from behind and use them as puppets, staked vampires are excellent for that. Don't ask me how I know that. Whatever our missing friend here has discovered, it wasn't peanuts, but the entire chocolate factory. Which makes me really curious to see what was on the old fashioned camera."

| As he recognizes Miriel, Duncan smiles and greets her.
Hello mademoiselle! You look alive and delicious. I assume you got the "Your presence is required" message too. I guess they need witnesses to the church attack, since Kersten probably won't be attending. Although if I understand Theo right, Rufus might be there. That should be interesting.
Duncan greets William as well, although he turns thoughtful as William talks about 'fast food.'
Hello. You should take advantage of the Prince's hospitality to take the edge off your hunger, but not too much... a couple of drinks maybe, but no more. You don't want to become known for being thirsty in Elysium.
When the Tremere leans in and displays the pictures from the SD card, Duncan nods and replies to William's comments. Yeah, the date's obviously fake. But why? Nobody's going to accept that date as real, on a digital picture. Hmm.
Those last two are definitely strange. Embraced and staked maybe, or freshly killed and posed for effect. I doubt our friend Fred is responsible, despite the fact that some of the pictures look like they were taken at the hospital. Perhaps his sire? Maybe the year on the pictures has some other meaning, relevant to them. The date they were Embraced? Or the anniversary of something else? Again I say, hmm.
We might get those other pictures back sometime tonight, if Nyx was able to hand them off to someone last night, or early tonight. I texted her a few minutes ago, saying I was here; but she hasn't replied yet.
By the way, Fred is here. I saw him rush into the Theatre a moment ago like he was on a mission. If he noticed me, he didn't show it.

| Miriel nods with a "mhmm" she does so often when Duncan asks her about her presence being required. She even puts one of her index fingers to her lips. She eyes over at William when he mentions being famished, and as if nothing, turns her head to the side, taunting. After all, she very well looks like a very suitable prey. Then she smiles widely and listens. She looses her smile an instant as she observes a few of the pictures.(Miriel) Oh so... Yes. I'm certain you can go and take a proper meal before heading over to the party, I'm so sure they would looove to see a Tremere on edge.. Won't they? Ah, here the floor is different, the architectures are not the same. However~ Should we show these to.. more established members of this marvelous city, they just might recognize the places? She frowns an instant, and uses her finger to go back to the pictures of the corpses. She browses slowly.(Miriel) The disrobed one.. hmm.. she looks like Jerome's precious missing childe. - Duncan:
Right when Miriel mentions it, and he sees again the pictures, Duncan can confirm it, from the pictures he had seen in Thomas' pictures they took at his place. Even if her face is partly hidden, her features and her body are easy to recognize ; a talented classical cantatrice and singer for opera plays, and her body has gone through the exercises necessary to develop her posture and upper muscles to be able to breathe. Her fingers are visibly those of a pianist. Of course showing the picture to someone who knew her will confirm, but Duncan is pretty sure it's her.

| OOC: You've got to be more cocky and sarcastic.
William raises an eyebrow while smiling at the teasing, but adds. "No worries, we Tremere are nothing, but masters of our blood. It's more of a nuisance than being on edge, but of course it doesn't make it any easier on the feeling of it, especially when you, are cheating by tempting with your very presence rose girl."
He pointed an accusing finger at Miriel, "Heck, I'm surprised you haven't been mistaken as prey yet by some sneaky vamp in an alley."
Once Miriel mentions the missing childe, William looks at his screen once more after the others were finished with it. "That is... troubling... I suppose I could ask around about the location and then inform this Jerome... Maybe he knows the second one. If this childe is older than newly embraced, there might be a chance they are staked or in torpor." He clicked the button which deactivated the screen, "But all that, after I've been properly announced tonight, I'm already tempting limits as it is thanks to Kersten's insistence to delay it until the execution."
His face brightened, "But, a proper announcement AND an execution, at least it is not all bad news. Now that I think about it, we should ask Fred if he knows the place as well, at lease gauge his reaction. Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing him, but like my sire always says: "Trust the malkavian to find the needle in a stack of needles, if you have one of the good ones that is."

Bloody is right about the cocky sarcasm, but you're pretty close -- you got the mild flirting with Duncan right. Miri also pretends to be more nonchalant than she really is, when something upsets her. Miriel points out the resemblance, and Duncan looks more closely at the screen... then he nods. You're right. I didn't see it at first, but she was in some of those pictures of Thomas' old coterie. I think it's her: Annabelle. However, when William suggests showing the photos to Jérôme, Duncan shakes his head.I've never met Jérôme, but a couple of people who know him have suggested caution on the subject of his childe. They seem to think if he finds proof she's still alive, he might do something rash. For one thing, if she survived, her allegiance may not be what it was... to Jerome, or to the Camarilla. I think it's been a couple of months since she was declared dead; time enough for someone to mess with her head, if they desired. If we show the pictures around, maybe we should start with Claudia, or Laure. They might have a little more emotional distance than Lehin. Corinna might know something as well; she seemed friendly with Jerome, that night I was presented. Showing it to Fred is probably a good idea. Like you, I doubt he was involved with whatever happened; but he knows this city quite well. I'm kind of skeptical about the famed Malkavian insight -- Fred's warnings of danger haven't really panned out yet -- but a lot of elders believe in it; including my sire.

| Fred runs out of the theatre and goes straight to his bike. He looks around uncertainly a little, but quickly spots some familiar faces and decides to approach, bike in tow.Mister Duncan! Mister William! I must speak with mister Xavier or the Sheriff, do you know where they are? Fred's anxiety is obvious, and he have a pair of papers in his hand; presumably they are related to whatever is riling him up. - Auspex 2:
Beyond what Fred is showing on the outside, he is currently having an inner struggle about the nature of something of great value to him. He is filled to the brim with uncertainty and is trying very hard to delude himself of a more comfortable scenario.

| William gives a glance at Duncan at Fred's haste, then gave a glance at the humans surrounding them. "Fred calm down, what's wrong? I dunno know this Xavier, but I'm quite sure the sheriff will be here around midnight for obvious reasons, so peace, there are kine ear nearby. Take a deep unnecessary breath and focus." | |

| Duncan explains briefly to William, before turning to Fred: Xavier is his former primogen. I've heard people still go to him with problems, since his successor, Victor, is a bit... confused about which clan he belongs to.
Fred, Lambert will be here in a while; but they have the exec-- the trial tonight, which will take priority over other issues unless they involve the city's security. Is this too important to wait until after the trial?
Duncan glances around as well; this early on a Monday night, the plaza is still crowded enough to require caution about what is spoken.

| Miri agrees that Jerome shouldn't be shown the picture. She adds another possibility with a thoughtful smile. (Miri) Gregory seems reasonable enough and he knows his beloved city as well.. ~Hello to you too, Fred.
She gives a wide smile to the Malkavian even if he didn't salute her.

| Fred offers the paper to either Duncan or William, depending on who claims it first. He's still very anxious. It's a terrible suggestion these papers hold, I must confirm their content as soon as possible. He couldn't have, and if so then someone else must've been trying to slander his good name! Must've.. Fred looks as though he's about to cry, and he takes off his beanie. If no one took the paper, he'll simply hold onto it as before.- OOC:
I'll let Claudia explain just what exactly is on those papers and how much sense it would make for anyone unaffiliated.

| - William:
To William, they look like psychiatrists notes on behaviorism observations.. Very Freudian, very bad ones too. It's not real science for William. They analyse two subjects, the male one, Fred, and the female one, Marie. The notes are a bit long to read because William has no Medical background to analyse and understand it fully. The clearest point is that it seems like Frederic Lassard's embrace and the death of his family by the Sire caused a regression in the Malkavian's mind.
Miriel seems fairly hurt at Fred's ignoring her. She pouts, crosses her arms.
A man with a jogging ensemble, black hair and dark skin, with one earring (a fake diamond), approaches the group and whispers something in the lines of "you got some coins for a sandwich ?". He's either Bulgarian, Romanian, or something around that. He looks very well alive as well, and fairly well fed. Miriel shrugs slightly, indicating she has nothing ; no bag, no belongings, no wallet.

| William seems to frown as he studied the papers. "Mortal medicine, bah..."
He seemed to reread certain parts, glancing at Fred occasionally. "So someone studied a certain Frederic Lassard's mind, for the combined trauma that resulted into a Malkavian embrace and loss of family members. And you are or presume to be this Frederic? And you did not know this? Considering your haste..." He flipped the pages over, trying to find something, "and when did this happen?"
"Do you suffer from amnesia?" He offered.

| William raises a brow at the statement, his questions answered none the less.
Snapping his fingers in front of Fred's eyes, then gives him a soft shake. "Hey, stay with us. This is not something that is to be rushed."
The Tremere picked up the beanie from the floor, dusted it off by shaking it a few times and pushed it onto Fred's chest. "I'm sorry to say this, but you aren't exactly from the bloodline with the cleanest track record. Still, you should handle this situation with caution until you figure out more about what happened. If this all happened when you were still mortal, there aren't a lot you can do, officially that is."

| While William studies the papers, Duncan interposes himself between the mortal and the rest of his companions. He fishes out a euro coin and holds it out to the man, but the expression on the Brujah's face is not kindly. Duncan eyes the man closely, wary of pickpocketing. You need to go. Now. This discussion is private. - ST:
Duncan is on guard. His former profession made him suspicious of 'random encounters' on the street. He spares a glance for any other people nearby, who may be with this one.

| The man takes the euro with a nod and leaves without insisting. He walks towards the Theater to ask a few more people who are hanging out outside, sitting on the steps to eat their take away diner.
Duncan can soon notice that there are a few more around, a few walking aimlessly around, asking people for money. There's even an old lady sitting on a bucket, near the start of the Sainte Catherine Street, next to the bakery that's closing. Most of them are men, however, approaching very close to mumble and whisper, rather than sitting and holding their hands. They have no bags. They just walk from group of people to group of people. Duncan already saw a few of them on the main merchant streets. They may certainly be part of a mafia group to have extra income or else, like those Rom girls in the Parisian Subway pickpocketing or stealing phones, or saying they are gathering money for the deaf or some other small time scam like that.

| Hey guys, let's take this discussion inside the Theatre. The plaza is a bit too exposed.
The Brujah starts toward the Theatre entrance, gesturing for the others to join him. As he continues to glance at his surroundings, Duncan offers a few words of encouragement to Fred, based on what little William has said. Fred, you can't help what your sire may have done. Not every elder has the purest motives for creating a childe. Let's talk about it inside, okay?

| Fred gets up and slowly drags himself to the theatre, loosely holding his beanie in his hand. He can't have.. He wouldn't have.. It's not true, it can't be... It can't be.. It shouldn't be.. Trick. But.. Fred mumbles on to himself, largely ignoring the others around him to focus on his own self control and internal conflict. | |
