Grand Theatre - Playroom Monday March 28th 2011

Miriel smiles to Felix when Jerome intoduces him, though they know of each other. She raises a brow with interest when Jerome mentions favors, Hm? With what?

Jean-Pierre shows clearly he's listening to Corinna while she talks to him. He nods every now and then, and he eyes over as William, Laure, the Sheriff and Alicia go elsewhere. The Harpy even allows himself a smirk.

Corinna, Latin speakers spies:

Claudia nodded to Neb when he left and she had a quick conversation with Emilio before leaving him.
She's quickly joined by Mikael, probably for a report.



Armand and Eric keep entertaining a conversation with Lucienne, but Eric seems fairly attentive of his surroundings.

Lucienne, Eric, Armand:

Eric makes a movement to guide Lucienne towards the Prince, but he stops quickly and pulls Lucienne aside to stop their movement as someone else walks through the main alley between the sitting rows. It's an average height man wearking a black and long coat, he has a strong posture commanding respect and stepping aside. Eric seemingly recognized the man and acted against his initial action to let him reach Gosuin first. The Prince had stepped down from the stage which was now empty.
The foreigner, as he looks like no one that was described to neonates or that others have met as nobody talked to him during the votes, doesn't act as a subordinate to Gosuin. Their discussion is quick, and the man follows the path taken by Laure, the Sheriff, William and Alicia a few moments before.

Eric waits a few other instants before releasing Lucienne and inviting her to walk with him towards the Prince who visibly noticed them.


Jerome refuses to speak until they're outside.

Miriel glances around cautiously before speaking again to Jerome, taking a perplexed breath, Let's go where you'll be comfortable. Her suggestion is obliging and unpretentious, she'll follow willingly to whatever space he takes her and Felix to.

As the whole hearing, proceeded along, Christopher Orlov had remained in the back of the room simply content for the moment to lean back against the walls and observe not just the stage but also the Kindred in the room. He kept a neutral expression for most of the time as his eyes wandered merrily across the dimly lit room, taking in who whispered with who and their gestures toward each other. Whether or not he is actually capable of hearing the discussions from his position way back is unclear. Only after the Gargoyle arrived with the box/coffin did Chris show a change in expression. He was immensely curious now and moved closer to the stage from the sidelines. He took up position near the stage to watch the morbid and political play from there. A slight smirk of amusement crosses his features as, after a whole bunch of whispered bickering amongst the various clans, Gosuin reads Lyle’s decision on the matter. The vampire reaches inside his pockets for a moment as though to search for something. His expressions falls for a brief moment and he grumbles inaudibly to himself before crossing his arms in front of his chest.

It is unclear whether or not the eventual decision of the tiebreaking Gangrel pleases him or not. Rather than the fate of the defendant, it seems like the proceeding itself is of more interest to Chris. That, and the interactions between the various gathered individuals. He watches impassively as Alicia gets dragged off for interrogation, seemingly only looking in that direction because it is the loudest. Just like Vonzel, the fate of this lady did not really interest him. With a little shrug, Christopher casually makes his way toward the Prince who’d just stepped of stage. He naturally waits until unknown others finish their business with Gosuin before stepping forward and speaking up.

“Quite the show.” It’s just a casual remark, neither a compliment nor an attack. His gaze drifts to the staked Vonzel. “So that’s the big bad in this whole matter hm. Would’ve expected him to be taller.” He shrugs, his eyes returning to the Ventrue. “So what are you going to do now that the audience has chosen life? Give him to the Tremere? The Nosferatu? Keep him yourself?” Chris let out a brief chuckle as a thought flashed through his mind. “Could always give him to me.” It’s clear he doesn’t actually believe this to happen. He’s merely sharing the bit of amusement he got from the mere idea.

Eric Artevelt nods at Lucienne's whispered question, confirming her thought, while they approach Gosuin, who asks Orlov for a moment and moves aside so the Ventrues can speak. The foreign Ventrue bow politely enough, and with an elegant gesture and a step aside, he introduces one to the other.
(Eric) My Prince, this Lucienne Démarais. She has been embraced and kept my watch over the past few months to be trained properly into our society. She now knows our ways and I have little left to educate her on. I believe she is ready to put her skills at your service.

Gosuin, while looking a bit stressed, listens and observes both of them with all of his attention. He nods in agreement and speaks with quite a welcoming voice.
(Gosuin) I'll trust your judgement for this childe, Eric. Let's hear it, Mrs Démarais.

Eric moves aside to let Lucienne ask for Hospitality.


Neb keeps talking to Nyx in a discreete fashion, but he's keeping himself attentive enough to his surroundings.

Nyx, spies:

Jerome takes Felix and Miriel outside.

When Eric introduces her, Lucienne gives the prince a low, fancy bow, a bit theatrical in its manner. "Your grace."

She smiles at the man's friendly tone at first and laughs lightly when he finishes his sentence. "If you ever meet /mr/ Demarais then, congratulate him from me, your highness. He's a mightily lucky chap, if I say so myself, and he doesn't even realise it."

She doesn't lose a beat when her clanmates look at her expectantly, and nods in a business-like manner. "Right. I believe that now, when my kind and sage mentor..." She inclines her head to Eric and it seems that while her eyes have a playful spark in them, she is being sincere in her respect to her clan elder. "...Has already presented me to your grace, I have just a moment to say what a great honour it is to meet a ruler as fair and open-minded as you, my prince. To you I vow, and with both sincerity and pride, that thou art my Prince and Lord, and I shall have no other before you. I shall not reveal the visage of the damned to any but those thou approve, I shall not take the name of  an elder upon myself  and honour my Prince as the only one to have the right to grant life and death, such as it is, to our kind. I shall always remember the rights of Domain and keep it holy, and never shall I shrink responsibility for those committed to my covenant."

The teasing tone disappears as she speaks and while the form she chose may seem like a jest, the Ventrue is dead serious.

"I understand fully the harsh reality of the world, majesty. It is my wish that, with your inspired guidance, I make it a bit... softer." She speaks in a low voice, straightening. "I submit myself to your scrutiny."

Neb shrugs a bit at Nyx's words, not that caring but serious enough with her to treat her as equals in business.

Nyx, Neb, spies:

Gosuin and Eric listen with attention to Lucienne's words as she introduces herself in a more official way to the praxis' holder. The Princes weighs it with importance, interested even if it seems he's had a rough start of a night. Her comment on the Mrs/Mr amused both him and Artevelt, but the rest was serious enough for them both. The Prince reaches to his new clan mate by extending a hand for her to shake, quite friendly and welcoming.
(Gosuin) Very well, miss Démarais. You are welcome to my Domain, so long as you do not cause any problems for our society. I am not as strict in protocol as my peers may be in their own cities, so do not hesitate to contact the Seneschal should you need to discuss anything with me. This is place is a mere provincial city compared to Paris, but I am certain you will learn useful skills whilst among us. Now if you'll excuse me, the runaway and I need to talk.

He vaguely indicates, without any despise, to Chris.
Eric quickly understands they're being dismissed, bows politely but not as theatrically, and moves away after indicating to Lucienne to move off. He discusses with her once away enough to let the Prince alone with his business.
(Eric) The Seneschal is this Céline ghoul I have talked about before.

Indeed he had given her the ghoul's contact information before. He offers her a pleased smile, not too wide, but quite meaningful.
(Eric) Good job.


Gosuin signs Chris to come over.
(Gosuin) I'm afraid the Archon will interfere with my rulings, but he is acting through what I wanted to do to begin with. It's the harsh truth of our existence. He smiles slightly. Even if it must displease our most vocal members. Sometimes some secrets are best to die with their owners and it's our responsibility to wield and to take responsibility about such decisions. As long as the city stands.

Quite an honorable Ventrue after all.
(Gosuin) Mr Orlov, for the sake of discussion, what would you have done should you have been confronted in such a situation?

A "watch out!" panic shout can be heard from the corridors. Quickly, a slight tick is heard, and a thick smoke fills the playroom. Another tic sound come quickly, as most present can hear the tossing of objects from the entrance. The flash of light and the smell of gasoline clues the most attentive of them into understanding they will be deadly as fire spreads from various places ; it's slow, localized in some seats and on an alley, and quite easy to move around, but the smoke and the confinement makes everyone's moving quite difficult.

The Nosferatu stands suddenly,  without any warning, she hops as many rows of seats as she can before the smoke grenades hit.

She took a quick look around to get her bearings as to whom is where and if she can make anything out from the main entrance to the Playroom but doesn't linger too long as to make herself an easy target, heading to the area with the largest number of bodies but with caution and using the seating as cover.
