Quest Items

First of all I'd like to offer my deep thanks for the work you've put into the making of this mod, it is a genuinly new experience and lightyears from the original.

However, I have run into a couple of problems. While doing the poster quests for Gary, I'm prompted to look for an old toy from one of his movies. This is usually found in the back of the Red Spot in Hollywood, but when i go to fetch it, it isn't there and has been replaces with a knife.

I was also wondering about the Library card. I've never actually found this before but from what I've heard it's supposed to be inside the locked room om the ground floor of the Empire Arms hotel downtown.
When I get there, though, there's only a webcam.

Have these Items been removed from the game completely or just moved to other locations?

I can't comment on the library card, I've actually never done that quest.

The pulltoy was turned into a knife because we needed the protean5 weapon for the new Animalism. We were going to cut the quest down so you didn't need the pulltoy (knife) but didn't have time before release so that fix will be made in CE 1.3. For now just skip that quest.

Can you give me more info on the library card issue? What quest is that and how do you start it, I've never heard of it.

Mitnik sends an email about the library card after you finished the Kamikaze Zen hub. Zer0, i sent this info along with the things for the poster quest, so it hasn't made it into CE 1.2.

But it's no real problem for the gameplay: Just put the webcam you found in the hotel into the mailbox when Mitnik asks for the library card. He will recognize it as a library card and send the reward anyway There is only one minor problem to this temporary solution: You will find two more webcams in Chinatown, and I haven't yet tested what happens if you mix them up. You don't need the cams from Chinatown for CE 1.2, so I think you better sell or drop them before you return home from Kamikze Zen.

I'm playing/beta testing all of this stuff now. Oh and by the way, Heather's clothing dialogue worked fine in the slum apartments in SM but as soon as I upgradaded to Skyline the clothes quit working right.

I would ask her to wear the sexy outfit and she stayed in her original, so I asked her to wear the original and she stayed in the original, THEN i asked her to wear goth and she did. I'm still testing it but something's goofy with the clothing thing.

I've only tested in Skyline and got no problems. So it seems something strange happens when you change your haven. Have you tried with a Tremere or Nos yet?
I'll see, if I can find something.

BTW I found another minor thing: Mercurio still talks about the Dragon Breath, but he doesn't sell it.

Edit: For the clothes: Did you really leave the building or did you return just after leaving the apartment? Heather appears in a new dress only after you loaded another map and then return to the Skyline building.

Shame about the toy, but at least I can finish the mitnick quests.

Your welcome Tamlinsgrove and again I apologize for breaking the poster quest. This will be fixed for CE 1.3, Childe of Malkav will make sure of it HAHA!

I haven't really played with it much, I've been playing as a Female Ventrue jotting down notes of errors that I find, mispellings, incorrect eye colors, anything out of the norm. So far I've found 4 issues that need fixed, well 5 if you count the poster quest. Oh and YES I left the building and came back each time, I zoned and the issue occured.

Whats strange is when you gave me those updated files I tested them in the SM apartment and it worked great, believe I wouldn't knowingly stick an issue in CE lol.

There are multiple ways of finding a library card in the game so you just have to look. As for the pulltoy, that was one of my favorite parts of the quest. I hope you get it fixed.

About the webcams I tested that on my Tremere, he'll accept the "right" webcam only (I had three), as for Heather's test in Tremere Haven, she was using gothic in Santa Monica and went into my new Heaven with her default clothes, I just asked her to be the way I met her and later on to use gothic again(going out of haven and entering again), worked fine after that

Not sure, but I guess the pull toy is a webcam you find in Chinatown (inside the vault) in the last Mitnick quest and the Vaccum tubes in Metalhead industries at Holywood.
