| I had an idea for CE. Now with the books completely removed and replaced by the college, what do you think of this? Make the research feat dependent on intelligence only. Perhaps on the basis of Research = 2 * INT. That way, you can't study studying anymore, and the INT attribute isn't quite as worthless as it is now. You'd have to bring it up to at least 3 then, if you want to learn the highest level of an ability via the college, and a bit more, if you want to do so at an acceptable bloodcost. In the same go, I would rename scholarship to rhetorics, and make it affect Persuasion only. That way, this overrated ability is toned down a bit as well. On a similar matter, I have decided to give 2xp instead of the scholarship bonus, if you talk through all the available topics with Beckett at the museum. I know, that turns down the net gain for the talking, but it removes the problem of where to cap the ability boost. This way, every character can benefit from the talk, regardless of their scholarship, and you can assign the xp where you see fit for your character. - | |

| Totally agreed on both ideas
About the scholarship bonus, 2XP doesn't seem enough. I'd go with 3, personally (since what it costs to raise scholarship is way much more.. It's from level 3 to level 4 right ? That's 6 xp Or 8.. *memory y u so fail ?*)

That's 6 xp Or 8.. *memory y u so fail ?*) That depends. In the vanilla game, it is capped at two to three (max of 6xp). But a lot of players probably won't get anything out of it, because they have already boosted scholarship up to at least 3 anyway. Wesp has changed that for the plus patch to a cap of 3 to 4 (=9xp). But IMO, that's way too much for simply following through a dialog. Well, the 2xp isn't engraved in granite. It can still be adjusted. Let's get some more opinions on this. -

| Sounds good to me. 2 or 3 XP is sufficient - I don't think any more is justified. I will simply have to adjust my tactics to maximize my gains GET ALL THE EXPERIENCE!!! | |

maximize my gains GET ALL THE EXPERIENCE!!! My thoughts exactly. And compared to vanilla or Wesps patch only, you can get more xp anyways. Due to the Akeem-hunter quest, and the additional learning options from Bertram. Btw, any good ideas what to do with the other options to learn abilities from npcs? Fighting from Nines, shooting from Romero, and the original learning option from Bertram for finding his cd. I don't like capping, especially later in the game, because then a lot of players get nothing at all. But also I don't want to let them teach up to level 5, because then you can get 12 xp worth for just a bit of talk, or hauling an item you probably have picked up at your first visit in the warrens around for a bit. - EDIT: Now we have discused the learning from NPC teachers for quite a bit. Don't forget to state your opinions on my other suggestion: Research INT only, scholarship (renamed as rhetorics) for Persuasion only.

| Research INT only and Scholarship renamed to Rhetorics is exactly what I did with my game so it gets a full endorsement from me.
For the learning bonus 2 exp from Beckett is enough. I'd personally even be inclined to remove it completely.

One option would be to cap the learning and if the player has reached the cap they get some exp instead.

| *Apprehends dog* You gotta catch them quickly because they are fighters to the death when their freedom is at stake! This one is no exception, so it's very important you keep it's mouth shut by tying a rope around it and make sure it holds! Then you tie the legs... AND ENSURE IT DOESN'T ESCAPE And there you go, apprehended dog | |
