| Thank you and have a nice day. Isn't that what the pilot is expected to say after he announced the immediate crash of the plane to the passengers? - | |

Hey man, calm down. I was talking about this funny looking ghoul that the fleshcrafter has sent after the baker woman. Perhaps you remember that I told it, the "real" baker woman was the Fiend himself. So Rex should already be at Philosopher's throat... HaaR Huar HARR hAaR-

While doing some changes, and updating the help texts for learning based on Int alone, I had an idea for a Malk clan weakness: "Due to the constant nagging of the voices, a Malk has a difficult time concentrating on the task at hand -> Research feat -1" What do you think about this? -

"My studies proceed at a languid pace. I am mired in a foul ennui as my wife's illness advances." Sounds like Grout's research is suffering to me. What is Grout's derangement? Depression? Refusal to accept the existence of magic, despite evidence to the contrary? (He still considers vampirism a disease, not a supernatural curse.)

| I would think that a hundred years of personal experience (If he was a contemporary of Freud, I'm guessing he's been a vamp for ~100 yrs) would convince Grout that vampirism is supernatural in origin, rather than merely symptoms of a disease, like Grout believes. Different beliefs are not derangements, but refusal to accept the evidence of your own experience is not sane either. | |

If refusal to accept evidence is insanity, there is not one single sane person in the world. We all had times when we refused evidence due to our emotional envolvement to some event or idea. And if you need to accept evidence from your "own experience", then a schizophrenic person who believes in his delusions is sane? Grout is a scientist, from a time in the history when everyone was heavily giving up on superstition and attempting to prove everything from a scientific point of view. Vampires tend to keep the same world vision and beliefs they held in life. It also helps that his sire never explained things for him for long(if at all), so basically he grew away from all the vampire lore and mythos for one hundred years.

- I think -1 is too less. -2 would be fine though.

| Refusal could be the result of his insanity. If the insanity of the Malcavians can invest itself in every possible way, being ignorant about his own kind wouldn't be that awkward. Imagine someone who doesn't believe he is no human. | |

I think it's a point of view whether he is ignorant, or the superstitious ones, Sabbat and the like, are more suited to the adjective. Plus, Grout is aware that his condition is vampirism, he simply prefers to try reversing it (with the help his dear scientific method, as Philosopher elaborated) rather than indulging in it. Having gone through the philosophy, I'd have to say: He's Awesome.

| The game is built in a way that it is, indeed, a curse. But the characters do not know that. There's no "evidence" it hasn't a scientific explanation. It answers to physical laws, and they are reproducible (like every given character will embrace childer of the same generation, and they will develop the same disciplines with more ease). Being able to reproduce a phenomenon is totally scientific Malkie flaw.. I'd say rather a -2 to persuation (would they believe someone speaking in riddles to make them open up to a malkie ?) | |
