My first playthrough with a presence higher than 1 point (I generally don't play for debuffs in RPGs, though I'm running out of new playstyles with Bloodlines), so I'm not sure how presence normally effects this fight.
I played through (nice mod, by the way - first time I've ever liked playing Ventrue, since Dominate is actually good now.), tore my way through the temple and was looking forward to seeing what Ming Xiao was like with a character built around a combat/debuff focus - I tend toward the "rogue" class, using traditional RPG labels. Go through the conversation, she transforms, and I flick on presence. She stops moving. I pull out a gun and shoot her to knock off the Mesmerize - I didn't want to exploit that first strike advantage too badly, given how much of a terror my character was on the battlefield already. She still doesn't move. I unload the rest of the clip, taking down a quarter of the health bar. She still doesn't move. 3 clips later, she dies, still sitting where she was when I activated presence.
As I said, I've never used high level presence before, so I have no idea if this is specific to CE, but it really does seem odd. She's immune to knockback, which made me think it might be that knockback is what cancels the mesmerize effect, but so is the Sheriff (from what I can tell), and the mesmerize part of Presence worked properly on him.
Not a game stopping bug (just the opposite) and I can fight her just fine by avoiding the use of presence or hoping for that 60% chance that she won't get locked down, but it's somewhat problematic. I can easily see pouring experience into presence to get through with low direct combat stats, leaving that kind of player with either a virtually impossible fight (without presence) or an anticlimactic execution.
Perhaps Ming (or all health-bar triggering enemies) should be immune to the mesmerize part of presence? If that's possible? 1 free hit on such enemies is rarely a huge issue.
