| I could be wrong, but my guess is no. From his posts, he still wants to play unique, 'kewl' bloodline, and Claudia has been trying to tell him this doesn't fit in her game. Bordeaux campaign is mostly Camarilla & a few Independents. | |

| I'm waiting for his email from last time, when we first discussed this.
I've been trying to say "think of a good character, then make him be embraced" instead of thinking about a clan then thinking about a concept. He seemed blocked about wanting to play only a couple of clans/bloodlines, regardless of the actual character >_> Like "imma gonna play a British" or "imma gonna play a universitarian" could be a proper definition for a character. "imma play a Tremere" is about as vague as playing a blonde, or a German. I mean, you've seen about all Tremere characters I've got, and they all are Tremere in essence, but you can't say they have something else in common >_>

| I could have made Duncan a Ventrue, or Gangrel, just as easily as Brujah. The character would have remained essentially the same, and I like to think that his skills would have been sought by several clans. But reading about the Primogen in Bordeaux, Theodore Jacob impressed me.
That first night in Elysium (a few days game time and a couple of years ago real time), I'm sure people thought Duncan acted more Ventrue than Brujah... at least until a certain Toreador PC chased off the person Duncan was trying to speak with, and pissed him off. Then people probably thought, "Okay, I see the Brujah side now."

| To be fair though I chose my Clan first and it worked out fine. Plus when I thought up Nyx it took me a while to get the details down and I'm still coming up with stuff. Claudia helped me tweak loads :) so I'm not surprised it's taking him a while to get back to Claudia with details. | |

| He'd also make an awesome "outsider Tremere" (a face XD), or a great malk once broken down by the clan's curse Miri could be a great Gangrel too. Nyx could have been toreador somehow as well ;-) The temper punk-ish ranting brujah is mostly younger ones and/or European ones Euro-Brujah usually have a more cynical approach and some medium term plans XD Theo's awesome, that's plain. Even Suzanne is awesome XD Any character could be embraced by any clan, given the opportunity and the right Sire :p | |

True enough; although different sires might have different priorities. I don't think Gregory Darvault would have considered Duncan a good Toreador candidate. He might like him at first glance, because Duncan can be courteous and diplomatic, and hold a conversation about Academics. But I think he would consider Duncan too blunt and uncultured. At the very least, Duncan would need some lessons in Etiquette before the Embrace.

| Which is why it's all about the right sire :p Claudia might not have embraced him, but Lyle or Mikael could have been interested enough, given the right circumstances | |

LOL In this alternate reality, I assume Brujah Fred has dug deep to find a bigger set of balls, or his clan mates will give him a hard time.

Just agreeing with Claudia that our characters are more than just a clan. William too; He would have made a good Ventrue, with his technical knowledge and attention to detail turned instead to Finance. Would he have been happy? That's another question. But if your character is interesting as a mortal, more than one vamp elder will see someone who could be an asset to their clan. Loyalty and hard work aren't enough to ensure the Embrace in the WOD. Loyalty can be assured with the blood bond, and every ghoul tries to distinguish him/herself from the crowd. There has to be something else. Having spoken to Claudia, Duncan knows why two Primogen thought her worthy of the Embrace... Lyle just got there first. Just realized... Claudia could have been Fred's 'sibling'. Weird. Also, I can see Nyx as a Torrie cat-burglar... a case could be made for Catwoman from DC comics being Toreador.

| Damn it, you got it The NPC Claudia being interesting to one Malk and one Tremere was because each had an agenda, but yes technically speaking Claudia would have been Fred's older sis XD Now you understand why she's very much distant with Fred and with all Malks ; she knows it :p But even if many characters are interesting enough to be embraced, they don't all get it, mostly because "everyone is interesting !", but also because you guys are the PCs, so it's "forced enough", because if each guy or girl interesting enough to be embraced was embraced, we'd be overcrowded XD It's all about the little special thing. That, and the ST's hand both do a great work | |
