I thought mods would automatically work with Special Edition. Unless they required an external tool that doesn't work with it, that is (such as the script extender).
Let's say the SKSE was slow in the making, as well as mod porting. This, and you need to go through Bethesda, not Steam, to get them.

No, mods must be "translated" to special edition So unless the original mod creator makes the translation and puts it on the Special Edition Nexus, you'll either have to do without or try to do the translation yourself.

Seriously? That sucks. I don't understand why they didn't just make it compatible. And what's that about having to go through Bethesda to get mods?

You subscribe through in-game interface that sends you to Bethesda pages, not through Steam. At least setting your account there is straightforward.
Not to mention the Unofficial Patch had to be ported first, as Bethesda didn't bother to fix known bugs depicted on wiki pages...

Wait, Steam? You got all your mods through Steam and not the Nexus?

Through Steam in the original Skyrim, through Bethesda interface in the SE.

This video made me go back to Skyrim. So, what mods should I use to make Skyrim Great Again? Other than obligatory SkyUI and unnoficial patches?

Aw dear... Depends what you like.
I think that for the settlements Bigger and Bolder series is a must.
Other than that: diseased a quality world map better magic rebalanced extended encounters high res texture pack (1-3) ultimate hunting & gathering real imperial soldiers item recycling kynsgrove tel mithryn improved smelting plus more village animals morrowind imports no fast travel sleep tight velexia's animals are not monsters wet and cold economics of skyrim coins into septims severin manor music fix
Well, those come to my mind... But do search on the workshop, maybe I missed something you would like.

I have downloaded mods that fix Sneaking/Lockpicking/Pickpocketing skills, Archery camera, More blood, iNeed (cooking is fun when it ACTUALLY MATTERS), some combat enhancements, etc.
Damn Dragatus, I wish I had downloaded your mod long time ago!!

I haven't tried to teleport yet, but the Divine Intervention was a lifesaver in Morrowind. Not to mention the weak dragons are a nuisance, not a challenge. Stronger ones feel more serious and fit the theme better.

In the future please make it clear when you're posting ESO lore so I don't waste my time on fanfiction.

Oh dear, ESO could become cannon!
Hopefully not...
But I will try to be considerate.

The teleporting one. Couldn't care less for minibosses. How do I get multiple recalls? I looked the perks but they didn't tell me anything. I don't know how much I have to level to get more than one.

Like it says in the mod's description, it's the conjuration mastery perks that unlock extra mark slots. That's Novice Conjuration, Apprentice Conjuration, Adept Conjuration, Expert Conjuration, and Master Conjuration.
Also, do make sure you make a mark before you recall or you'll get stuck in a room without an exit. And do try to use common sense, so you don't break any quests.
