Hi,

after looking through the whole histores I have the following suggestions (lore based). If you took certain bonuses to have a good distribution among each clan ignore my comments please Smile

General Bonus Distribution.

I wanted to take a look at how often each bonus was granted. So this list reflects the total amount of boni granted.

Unarmed 7
Melee 7
Ranged 4
Defense 7

Lockpicking 4
Sneaking 7
Hacking 2
Inspection 8
Research 16

Haggle 6
Intimidate 5
Persuasion 9
Seduction 7

Bashing 7

For a total of 96 Points
(48 histories รก 2 points)

Now some histories appear more than once. Taken this into account it would look like this:

So, this is how the total number of boni loks like. Hacking has 6 points (3 entries with 2 points) in total. Thats rather low. If we have time it would be cool to look into those values. Took me a good chunk of time to get them worked out. Maybe reduce Research here and there abit. Someone sitting in the Library might also have gained some Computer aka hacking skills.
The same goes with Ranged. The Sharpshooter appears 4 times. So 8 out of those 10 points come from those entries. If this is what you want.

but I would like to spread the stats more. (only osebo +2 research option)

dont see the research, would probably go with persuation instead

Thanks for drawing this out, Kyoden, it's nice seeing it in this format. As far as the bonuses being unbalanced with the others, when I created the backgrounds, I didn't take into consideration balancing as much as I wanted to give backgrounds that would be the most logical styles that people would play. So for instance, giving Seduction feat bonuses to a Samedi would be pointless. I tried to make backgrounds "stereo typical" to the clan. So Setites got lots of backgrounds specializing in Haggle, Seduction, and Persuasion, because that's the type of clan they are naturally.

I'm really not concerned with balance as much as I am making sure that the type of background is there that a player would want to play, with the appropriate feat bonuses.

Assamites, Baali, Setites, and Samedi all get a +2 Research background too.

I'm steering clear of penalties outside of the 2 missing dots at the beginning. I guess I just want all of the backgrounds to be uniform and fair for everyone.

Foreign Recruit is a synonym for "Spy" which is what I was going for. The military training was quickly overshadowed by Spy training, maybe I didn't portray that well.

I agree on the foreign recruit. The name is misleading. My first thought was someone who joined the french foreign legion. Better call it Military Intelligence or something.

Just playing as an Assamite. Now the clan flaw and Merit is really unprecise. It says of the chosen fields. Now, usually when I pick a history it tells me which fields are my good ones and which ones aren't. Maybe you could add them more precisely.

I thought I added which 'Path' is included in each background so I'm not sure what you mean. There are 3 paths...

Path of the Gifted = Talents specialist
Path of the Professional = Skills specialist
Path of the Scholar = Knowledges specialist

Ahhh, that makes so much more sense now, perfect screenshot.

1.) You have a resolution issue, that's why a lot of the screen is cut off. That's not a bug with TFN, that's your computer. You need to play at 1280x1024 or a different resolution that fits your screen. I was so confused at what you were saying earlier. You're missing about 20% of the bottom of the screen.

2.) So you want which path you've chosen next to the bonus for the info screen. Gotcha, sure I can add that no problem. Laughing
