I bought a new PC that came with Windows 10 already installed. Being the lazy bastard I am I figured I might just keep it, but an online search revealed that it's worse than I feared.
A few things Windows 10 does:
- it makes you part of a p2p network to distribute windows 10, which would be fine if it didn't mean that it steals your bandwith (to the point where at times I couldn't even access the internet)
- we already discussed all the wonderful spyware that's built into the bloody thing
- and it even comes with a keylogger
Fuck this bullshit, I'm switching to Linux.
So yeah, if anyone still has any doubts whether or not they should make use of the free upgrade, don't do it.
Edit: OK, I got over my anger a bit and to be fair, you can disable a lot of the information tracking and delete the keylogger. But all this still creates a fundamental mistrust. I mean how do I know that turning things off actually does anything?
