Bloodform my many Masquerade violations

Is there a way to cancel the Bloodform power without taking enough damage to remove it? I had it running in the haunted hotel and it lasted the whole time. When I finally got back to the city, I climb out of the manhole and get a violation forgeting it was running. Then in the diner when the gang jumped me they didnt do enough damage to me I guess because after I killed them the cook saw me and I got another violation. I think it's a very important power for me the way I am playing, but I am getting too scared to use it now.

Hey Muddleglum, welcome to the CE forums!

Actually you can cancel Bloodform anytime you want, it's a toggle power meaning you can turn it off and on at will. It does take 2 blood points everytime to turn it on however so be careful with your blood meter.

I guess you didn't know but you can manually turn off ALL disciplines anytime you want in the game. I assign my "X" key to turn off disciplines but you can assign any key you want. Go into options and look in the keyboard setup, I think it's called Cancel Powers/Discipline or something to that effect.

When you get it figured out let me know and I'll chalk this up as another succesful post!

Well I thought F8 did that but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working. Your vision changes a bit while in blood form and F8 Clears it up so it looks like your good but the minute I am seen after I have used Bloodform I get a violation, well unless an npc knocked it off of me. I hope I keep getting more chances to recover masquerade points.

Thanks a lot for the reply! I am gonna look at remapping and seeing if I had things mixed up and F8 really wasn't doing anything, I got that from a load screen tip so it might be wrong anyway heh.

(edit) Also why can't I use Cauldron of Blood? It's not listed in my powers. Is it activated differently?

I think unique level 4 and 5 powers (not ones that just scale up like Fortitude or Potence) can only be activated via the hotkey system (look in your control settings and see what button brings up the hotkey menu). Don't know why mods that alter disciplines have this bug though but at least they work.

Like Nihilanth said... for a better explanation I would suggest reading the CE game manual (that i worked 30 straight days on lol). It tells you all about these minor bugs and how to navigate around them. But yes we found that Tier 3-5 disciplines (that don't scale up) need to be used with the hotkey system. By default the "K" button brings up the hotkey menu and you can assign them numbers 1-9. You can assign more than just disciplines in the hotkey system, you can also assign weapons, bloodbags, etc....

Again, thanks so much for the reply's! I have set Cauldron of Blood up as a hotkey and it still does not work. Nothing happens at all. You think that my copy of Bloodlines being a digital download from Direct2Drive and not a boxed copy might be causing me all these issues? This is a fresh install with CE 1.1 on top and nothing else btw.

(edit) Instead of deleting this last post I will make an example of myself haha! If anyone else has a little air between the ears like I do.. the hotkey for Cauldron of Blood doesn't activate the power like I expected, it puts it into your normal power selection then you use it as normal with right mouse.
