new here, just reinstalled VTMB and decided to start trying out a cool mod i heard about a while back (the CE)

just wanted to ask if i can use the OTHER top rated mod i heard about at the same time.

so?

i know both mods change quite a lot, so i wouldnt think so, but i did find the link for it on this site and why would it be here if it didnt work with the mod this site was made for, right? or is that just wishful thinking?

Don't worry, with Ce and TFN soon to be released you wouldn't haveneither time nor need for Companion Mod

yeah, about TFN, im quite supprised to see a game as old as this still has such a active modding comunity. its a nice change.

The 1.45 patch is out there for everyone to download. It is stable as far as I can tell. I only called it beta, because my main reason for making it was to get some feedback on the new music and blooddoll system. And I'm not yet ready to make a new full version. Too much still to do for that. Plus I'm not working on it too hard atm.

They are separate.

Patch 1.45 Camarilla Edition. Adds new stuff to the game in test mode. Will be fully implemented in CE 1.5 There is pleanty on the forum on it. Well, full CE section You are in no need of other sources on it. Months worth of reading.

TFN is , or rather is soon to be 1.0 Ideas for 1.1 waiting to be implemented, but we don't want Zer0 to get karoshi, now do we?

played a little CE, other than the reworlked disciplines, not much seemed diffrent, then again i only just got the astrolight, and it was a while since i last played. so i dont remember everything. (presence still seems useless, and all the good clans get dunked with it)

i would have expected brujha to have potence cerelity and fortitide, the 3 "body disciplines"

and what does the "messmerised" status effect even do? think i played through ventrue without using anything but fort and dominate.

I would have expected Brujah to have the same disciplines they've had since I cracked that first edition book. They're not just fighters you know; they're rabble rousers too. And nothing rouses the rabble like a shiny leader.

i guess your right, and i didn't just mean, in this game, i ment i would expect brawlers like them to be all brawn and no brain, (the only one in the game who seems to have any presence at all is jack, and even he just looks like a random hobo till he kneedrops that one sabbat who shoots at you

still, i guess presence is the last link to the "true Brujah"

Yeah keep playing iamnuff, you've barely scratched the surface of CE. Some of the highlighted changes include the new disciplines, the blood loss system, more blood dolls, the online college system, weapon stat changes, and tons more though I can't think right now lol.

Presence was completely reworked and is powerful as ever! Read the new description and see that it now mesmerizes the higher you get it. At level 5, Presence just about stops everyone in their tracks, and the ones that CAN move have such low combat abilities that they can barely hurt you. It's actually almost too powerful honestly.

huh, i guess its because i dont really know what mezz DOES.

and debuffs never seem to have much effect, i mean, i cant TELL that they are doing less damage, because either i use it at the start of the fight, or not at all, and mezz seems to give them a big swirly around their heads, but they don't DO anything, just keep attacking like normal, or atleast they DID.

time to fire up a CE ventrue it seems.

Only works with an OLD version of CE

On the contrary it works with latest CE 1.4, the installer will let you choose which other mods from the list you would like to play along with clan quest mod.

dont want to risk it because i already had to reinstall VTMB 4 times in 2 days
once to start, for CE, then i uninstalled and tried compmod, (but fucked up and had to reinstall again) then it turns out i had VASTLY underestimated how much CE changed, i cant bring my self to play without CE anymore, not even for a damsel companion (my fav character) so i un/reinstalled again to plonked CE 1.45 on it, because that shit is awesome.

There is actually a Mod where they put CE, CQ and CompMod together into one mod. I installed it on a second copy of the game, and there I will play a social-heavy character (bookworm tremere who can't fight to save her life). I haven't gotten into it too much.. the first thing I did was recruit that first bum outside your apartment, and a nearby hooker. It's pretty fun, I recommend giving it a try for a different expirience, it's called VTMB2010 (not sure if someone mentioned this allready... they probably did and that's why I even found it...)

pretty sure i heard of it, and that it dosnt do any of the three mods justice.

like i said, i like damsel, shes the only female vampire who isnt a "vamp" so to speak...

everyone else just seems to "slut-out" the moment you have something they want.

If I remember rightly that's the mod where they took Zer0 and Childes' work without asking permission and melded it with two other mods.

From what I can tell, they turned it into powerplayer's heaven, and nothing else.
It's not supported here, and any topic trying to discuss it, at least on the CE part of the forum will immediately be locked.

From what I've seen of Companion Mod (YouTube videos, talk on Planet-Vampire, etc.) it IS just a power trip. It's just the fantasy of being able to turn NPCs into ghouls, or even Embrace one, so you have little minions to lord it over. The people I've spoken to who played CompMod pretty much admit this, although they get defensive when you point out the game was designed for a single player, not a group. What is a challenge for one person, might be too easy with help.

Also, when a mod allows you to turn NPCs into minions, that means those NPCs are no longer able to fulfil or initiate certain quests. So naturally the game is going to be changed considerably.
