| If you read the foreword of Dheu's guide, what he originally intended was quite a good idea: giving Ventrue the opportunity to dominate someone to do the dirty work for the character. - | |

| i think its not possible to have them join you untill you finish their questlines, im not sure. like i said, the only thing that interests me was damsel, but if it means i have to uninstall CE and play with random people walking round with vamprie eyes, and using the old powers rarther than the new CE ones? then its not worth it. meh, i guess it would be counter productive anyway, the reason i like damsel is because she DOESNT fall down at your feet, if you side with a cammys, or sometimes even if you dont, she HATES your guts, and is not afraid to let you know it. i find her honesty...refeshing especially after having someone like Jennet hanging off you... the fact that she is one of the few women in this game who does NOT dress like a stripper/whore is a nice change too. using dominate to make her your slave or something would be taking that away... now if compmod had a method of convicing her to team up with you due to character interaction/shared goals rarther than mind control? i would be sold. but that would never happen. | |

| alrighty, cool then. just making sure. it was a little annoying though, i already have version 1.45 and its trying to put 1.4 over it, not to mention all the other mods it wants to install, and it wouldnt let me unchoose the onoffical patch, which i should already have, guess i should have used that on a clean install, then chose to have everything. oh well, hope i didnt fuck up too badly. | |

| Look into the announcement about combining mods in this section. There you can get some tips what to do, if you want to have different stuff available. - | |

| I've actually played the game with companion mod installed. I didn't enjoy playing multiple character but what I did enjoy was the beautifully done voice sculpting. You know... hearing Therese or Damsel begging you with their voice... that was extremely awesome. It was like I completely dominated over their characters. It made me feel good. Although I won't probably play companion mod again, I still appreciate Dheu's voice sculpting work. He really has talent! If I recall correctly he inspired many modders to try things beyond what they believed was possible. | |

| A good story ALWAYS makes up for horrible graphics. The opposite is never true | |

The opposite is never true It seems, most of the developers don't think this is true Or they just have completely run out of ideas for a good story... And with all the money spent for advertising, there probably isn't enough left to employ a decent writer for the storyline. -

| Actually most of the money goes to graphics. I mean when was that PS1 time when with 300 bucks you could pull out a game ? Because you worked the engine limitations like you wanted, and Sony published almost every game it was preented (I mean, they are like what, 3000 PS1 games ?)
Now everyone wants very high quality graphics with the budget of a hollywood movie ! Look how much time it took the PS2 to fully work its engine, I mean the first Tekken for the PS2 is just awful, then check out FFXII.. !
Nobody is able to wait that long anymore. that sucks

| heh, happy to have made your week,
i remember why i uninstalled this game in the first place, i got to about chinatown, then my save died, so i just gave up,
this time for sure, I WILL COMPLETE THIS GAME...
playing as a malk the first time round was probs a bad idea... i always liked the mad seer archtype though.
spoilers everywhere, and i remember pissing loads of people off because i had no idea what i was saying. but i somehow managed to get the crazy sisters to work together, can't do that this time.

That happened to me, the thing where the saves got all screwed up. I figured out that it was because I forgot to "Run as administrator" when starting up the game.

| honestly, it seems less like a mod and more like something that should come packaged WITH the game...
then again, i think the game was released before it was finished because troika went bankrupt or something.
mods usually seem very... invasive. like you can always spot what doesnt belong.
but not this one...
and apparntly TFN will be like a whole new game.
FUCK YEAH!
i love VTM but i dont know anyone who plays PnP games at all, nevermind finding a group who plays vtm. where i live its all "HAHA D&d GEEKS LAWLZ"

| Yes, Troika didn't finish the game. I'm betting they ran into the same problem you see happening on these forums all the time. The World of Darkness setting, even if you just look at the vampire portion, is so fleshed out, so detailed and nuanced, that there was just too much they wanted to do with the game. I mean, look at the stuff we ask Zero about, the stuff he himself has said he wished he could put into the game.
At least Zero has the benefit that he can only work within the restriction of what the game's engine will allow him to do. Yeah, I did in fact just list that as a benefit, because if those restrictions weren't there Zero would probably be some crystal meth addicted shut in who never sleeps and hallucinates lines of python code floating around his head while his arthiritis-crippled fingers type endlessly away as he puts more and more new content into his mod, which would of course never see the light of day even while its cult following grows and grows, legions of update-addicted fans waiting for their next chance to orgasm over his latest addition.
But ya basically they ran out of time and activision forced them into rushing an incomplete version to the shelves. The sales were horrible, and they faded out of existence. Sad really; they were planning a Werewolf: The Apocalypse game as well.
But hey, if we're lucky that there Vampire MMO might actually come out while we're still alive. Of course, wouldn't it be funny if we're laying on our death beds and one of our great grand kids walks in holding their brand new copy of the just released "World of Darkness Online"...beep... beep... beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

| That and Activision lost the gold disk shortly before it was meant to go published The game that was released was the step before that one hurredly worked on. | |
