Grand Theatre - Déambulatoire Monday March 28th 2011

Duncan writes an email address on Igor's sketchbook.  The Brujah grimaces when Igor says he wants to know everything about the church attack.  Not that it seems to bring back bad memories; more like he doesn't want to tell the story multiple times.

ST:

Miriel and I will be telling the whole story in a few minutes here.  So I'll just summarize, and you can ask questions if you need to.  Basically, we were in St. Eloi talking to Lyle Kersten.  Duncan looks at Neb and William, and adds:  It was the old Tremere chantry, before they moved it to the hotel.

Suddenly there was an explosion.  The Sabbat had driven a car into the front doors, and blew it up.  We weren't hurt by the blast, but it destroyed the doors and some of the pews closer to the entrance.  A few Sabbat ran inside, although they couldn't see much at first, due to the smoke.  I grabbed a piece of wood debris and hit one guy, while Kersten pulled a sword out of some cubbyhole and cut off another guy's head.

The third attacker pulled out a gun and shot at Kersten a few times, although I don't think he hit him.  Miri grabbed a stake and engaged him.  I left the first guy on the floor, and went for the man with the gun.  I figured I could keep him busy and draw fire, while Miri tried to stake him.  By this time, we could see that there were only a few, and my thought was that we should take a couple of prisoners for questioning.

I clubbed the gunman, but he stayed on his feet, and shot at me.  He only hit me once, yet it wasn't too bad.  Miri took advantage of his distraction by staking him.  That put him out of it.  About that time, the car's gas tank exploded.

However, while we were fighting the third man, the first guy stood up and pulled a gun.  He shot Kersten a few times; but before the Regent could do anything, Rufus the gargoyle dropped down and crushed the shooter.  Kersten told Rufus, "Finally!"  I guess he was pissed at being shot.

That's about it.  There was a body in the car; probably the driver, but with the car fire, there was no way I was getting close.  His body wasn't turning to ash, so he was probably human.  Fortunately, the church didn't seem to be in danger of catching fire.  Kersten gave Rufus a few instructions, and called some of his people to arrange a cover story.  He also suggested I call Theodore, since we would need his news sources to help with this story.  I did as he asked; that's when I found out about the other attacks on Brujah territory.  Then the Regent took Miriel and I to a safe house nearby.  Any questions?

Catherina Giovanni enters the Deambulatoire with a pleased smile on her lips, and she's quick to approach Theodore and Doctor, outside on the balconies.


Gregory seems surprised Felix even asks what one does in court. He formulates an answer with great Expres​sion(that your ST doesn't have XD) to explain the obvious.
(Gregory) Well, what one does in any court. We gather, exchange information, enjoy ourselves, make decisions, negociate state of affairs, and rule our society. What does one do in an embassador's dinner? Eating is just the excuse... Sometimes there are events, such as presentation of a neonate, or other events like a vernissage, a play, or talents to observe.

He certainly means Toreador held events ; Jerome did mention that if a Toreador had something to show, an Elysium would be held for everyone to see it, or just Toreador. Like a public lecture?



Igor didn't sit down. He waits for everyone to write their email addresses on the sketchbook ; Neb didn't, yet.
(Igor) Ah, I see, I see.. Yes that church was everything and nothing for long years, depending on Tarcisus' mood, I guess. I used to like it a lot, back in the days. I still come by often but with Rufus.. He always refuses to answer my questions too!.. Well I don't suppose you'll tell the story in front of everyone, which is why I asked. A sword uh? I knew the Tremere Primogen could get physical.. You remember how it was, the sword? .. Hmm a safehouse?

Miri indicats a height with her hand, then a wideness of about 15cm with both her hands.
(Miriel) A big one, about as tall as Duncan, maybe a little less. About this wide on the blade.. But the handle was big and the pommel looked heavy. And yes, a safe house, a house where we were safe...

Miri is careful not to answer directly about the safehouse mentionned by Duncan, she does so with wits and a smile.
(Igor) Oh, okay. And how was Rufus? It's strange he was slow to act, no?

Corinna, Mikael, or perception+alertness>5:

William follows the new kindred whom entered with his eyes, until he portrayed a small sign of recognition moments before she reached the balcony.
"Isn't that that Giovanni we... heard about?"

William scooted his chair over, seeing what Duncan was on about on his laptop while he took out his phone to glance on to the clock. After Igor told Rufus ignored his questions, the Tremere chuckled.
"Maybe you're not his type, haha. His dating preferences are marble statues and long stand and do nothings while being near a brick wall. His common vocabulary consists of silence and... let's see... Ohh, more silence, and if speaking allowed it, he's use silence as well. I offered to paint his pink once, you know, to make him more kids friendly, longest silent growl of my life."

ST:

Igor pulls a face when William indicates they can't date, then smiles widely.
(Igor) I'd just like to know how it, well, works. I just got the "Leave this instant" threat and I had to, uh, run.

Totally normal behavior, it seems. He waits on Duncan to answer his question about Rufus, as Miri is looking at him to let him say so, and call the shots of what he can or can't say.

He gave a nod. It all sounded simple enough to him."I see, but I had thought that I had heard one of the others mention that there was something specific planned for this evening beyond neonate presentations, or did I hear incorrectly?"He asked, looking to Gregory.

He sparred a glance to the table of neonates, his expression becoming one of slight confusion at the sight of the Nosferatu. He wasn't repulsed, just curious. He looked to Gregory once more."If it is not rude to ask, that gentleman over there has a peculiar look about him. Is that something that we should be concerned about? Some sort of illness or injury?"

While Igor asks his questions, Duncan removes a small USB flash drive from his laptop case and plugs it into the computer.  Duncan glances at Catherina Giovanni when William comments on her entrance, and nods to the Tremere before facing Igor once more.

Yes, a big two-handed sword, like Miriel said.  Big, heavy thing with a huge pommel to balance it.  And the safehouse... I couldn't tell you the address; it was a few blocks from the church, and we only stayed there a few minutes.  Then I had to leave, and go to El Bodegon to meet Nyx, who had some message for me.  Where is she, by the way?  The Brujah looks at William during the last question, with a slight frown.

Duncan turns back to Igor, and continues to answer the Nosferatu's questions.
I can't add much to what William said about Rufus.  He's big, and heavy, and looks like stone.  He had been watching us from the ceiling or something, before the Sabbat broke into the church.  I'm not sure why he didn't help right away; maybe it had something to do with the initial explosion, or the fire when the car's petrol tank blew up.  I'm just guessing, though.

After the fight, Kersten told Rufus to hide the remains, and take the prisoner away for safekeeping.  He also ordered Rufus to go to the hotel and tell Horsman, and then come back and guard the tower.  Rufus agreed, and we left.  No time for formal introductions.

Anything else?

Duncan takes out his phone, and checks to see if he's received any messages (since he turned off the ringer).  Apparently not; he gives the phone a look of annoyance, before he puts it away.

Duncan's eyes scan the room, absorbing who is speaking to whom. When he glances at Catherina, who recently joined Theodore and Doctor on the balconies, he catches Miriel's attention and points that direction.

Remind me later... Catherina should have something for us. It's from Laure and Claudia's friend, who owed us some information if we did him a favor.

Miriel listens, nodding slightly as Duncan expands on what happened at St. Eloi, drumming absentmindedly on the table with her fingertips. She's looking in another direction, humming along to something, a soft smile playing on her lips. She glances over at the laptop occasionally, but makes no interruptions.

She perks up and leans in as Duncan begins to speak aside to her, the smile on her lips grows slightly as her eyes flick over to focus dead on him. It would seem she is purposefully using prolonged eye contact to make Duncan feel especially aware of the intimate space they're sharing. The smile widens deviously; just enough to begin showing the edge of her pretty white teeth, Oh, good.

It's all she has to say about that, at least while others are present, though whether she's smiling about good news or whether Duncan's particular reaction to subtle teasing pleases her is unclear. She shifts casually in her seat, ready for more of Igor's questions, if they come.

Duncan:

Neb puts his e-mail on the sketchbook when it is passed around. When Catherina Giovanni enters he looks at her with interest, especially when William mentions who she is. He makes like he wants to move his chair to look at the laptop with the others but hesitates.

Neb looks to Duncan.

Mind if I look too?

Duncan looks down under the table when Miriel moves over; then his face becomes a neutral mask, and he scoots over slightly, as if to give her more room.
Excuse me.

Auspex 2:

Duncan notices when Nyx enters the déambulatoire, and waves her over to the table.  

When Neb-uau asks to look at the laptop, Duncan shakes his head.
Sorry; it's super-top-secret.  Then he smiles, and adds:  Actually, there's nothing to see yet.  I gathered a little... data earlier this evening, and I was going to write a program to compare the data, and line it up all neatly so I can read it easier.  I was going to ask William if he wants to help.  To William, Duncan says:  How about it?  Something to do while we wait for the Prince to start the proceedings.

Gregory Darvault shrugs when Felix mentions other events.
(Gregory) Hm, yes, it does not really concern us directly, but the Prince said he'd have a hearing concerning a prisoner, one of which caused the attacks of, when was it, Thursday.

(Gregory) I do not know much more. They should interest me, but..

It's simply not the case. The Toreador Elder is just not interested, nor intrigued. He just doesn't care.
(Gregory) I do suspect we'll witness an execution. Hm ? Who so ?

He gives a glance.
(Gregory) I think he's a foreigner- Ah, you mean the Nosferatu ? That's how they are. Cursed.

Obviously, Gregory was thinking he was refering to Neb-uau. When he speaks about the Nosferatu, he does sound condescending and sorry, but in a very non-equal manner (can't find a better wording, /ST problems).




Igor gives the puppy eyes, trying to obtain more information on Rufus. Seeing he won't get any more useful.
(Igor) Oh, well, thanks a lot for what you could give me ! I just want to know how it works... See ya, if you need anything, ask Pierre, 'OK ?

Igor makes a farewell with the hand once he has gotten back his sketchbook, he makes sure he can read all addresses, and hides it again under the cowl. He leaves after farewells.
When crossing paths with Nyx, Igor gives her his widest, most honest smile.
(Igor) I'll see Rufus tonight !

Obviously he's looking forward to it and sounds very excited.




The doors to Gosuin's room open up slowly, and Alicia steps out, looking far less confident than what she usually seems to look. She opens both doors, probably by Gosuin's request, and looks around for something.

Neb looks to Duncan.

Well if you need my help with it please let me know. I'm pretty handy with computers.

Neb politely nods goodbye to Igor when he leaves.

William glances at the notepad before Igor picks it up once he left, he glanced to Duncan.
"Funny he didn't ask me directly about Rufus, maybe he asked the other Tremere so often that he just learned not to even consider the idea. Anyhoo..."

He picked his phone from his pocket and typed something on it.

ST:

Once Duncan mentioned assisting, William glanced at the screen once more.
"Actually, I can help you in about an hour or so, I haven't exactly have a lot of roaming time the last few days and I should go shopping, if you get my drift."
The Tremeres eyes glanced at Miriel as if to make his point.
"Put down the basics, I'll give my input if you haven't finished it by the time I'm back. Oh and..."
William opened a slot on his phone and took out a blue sd card.
"Those files we discussed earlier."

William Beckoned Nyx to take Fred's old seat between him and Duncan.

Felix listened closely, rather intrigued that trials and executions were actually held in such a manner among Kindred.However, like the other he didn't seem particularly interested in the event itself. it simply held no connection to him. However, the explanation regarding the Nosferatu obviously suited him more.

"I see. Jerome had mentioned they were a bit different, but I never expected something like that."

He looked to Gregory and offered a smile.

"Thank you, very much for your help. I'll do my best not to trouble you any further tonight. Do please let me know if I can ever be of assistance, to properly thank you for all the help you've been tonight."

Igor's departure catches Duncan by surprise-- he obviously expected the Nosferatu to ask more questions, or press him further on some points of the story.  Duncan barely has time to wave a hand in farewell, before Igor walks away.

Duncan nods at William, before the Tremere leaves.

I understand.  Good luck.  Don't nibble on any Hunters by mistake.  I don't really need help; I was just offering a way to pass the time, until Miriel and I are called upon to testify.  The last sentence was directed at both William and Neb-uau.

Oh, and I'll understand completely if anyone else leaves, and comes back later.  This isn't exactly thrilling conversation.

With that, Duncan will start to work on his laptop computer.  Any big comings and goings will be noted; but conversations outside the table will be ignored.  He will stand if any elders come to their table, though.

ST, Miriel:

With his glass in hand, Mikael stands and leave his table, leaving Griffin and Corinna to their silence. He proceeds in Darvault's direction. Arriving at the table, Mikael greets the Toreador Primogem warmly.

The man of letters! Greetings, friend. Nothing in this city I missed more than our literature conversations. How has the night been treating you?

ST:

Mikael sounds friendly enough. He seems to be on good terms with Gregory. Apparently not wanting to exclude Felix from the conversation, Horsman turns to the neonate and adds, raising his hand.

Greetings. Mikael Horsman, magister of House and Clan Tremere. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but you're Jerome's child, are you not?

His eyes widen in surprise at the sudden arrival of Mikael. Felix gave a nervous smile and a nod, shaking the other's hand if offered.

"Yes, you're correct, Sir. I am Felix Sommier, and you are already familiar with my sire."

Nyx plucked a headphone out of her ear as Igor walked past her, she returned his smile in a much more reserved fashion.

Please don't get squished.

Was all she could manage to say before her Clan mate had parted ways from her also. Without pause she took up William's invitation and sat next to him.
