| Start Steam. Click Play Skyrim. Don't go to Play! Click Data Files. Should auto update. If not, tick the files you like tou use. Mods should load last, i.e. be at the end of loading order. | |

| Unofficial patches and SkyUI are there. Weap's mod had to be installed through ModO; doesn't appear in "data files". | |

| It should've worked automatically as soon as you install it. If it's not showing up you either didn't install it properly or you installed a conflicting mod that has priority. Does it show up on the right in Mod Organiser? | |

| It does not. However, I only (manually) installed unofficial patches and seks and the ui (those are displayed).
EDIT: Resolved. There was conflict between unofficial patches.

Is there a difference between 'vampire' and 'vampire lord'? I mean, do I get the perks only when I accept vampirism from Harkon, or is a common vampire enough?

| Yeah, as a normal vampire(i.e infected by another vampire), you only get access to a few spells depending on the progression. If you accept Harkon's offer(which doesn't matter if you are a vampire already - in which case you can say something different than if you were not, and he has an extra line or two to explain), then you gain not only a few spells, but the perk tree. Speaking of that, I plan to get Skyrim soon. I've already been looking on the nexus for mods I want to use, mostly just the fairly usual stuff, but I don't plan on using things like Frostfall, Deadly Dragons(which I may consider, but I would rather the game not throw a difficult "boss" fight in my lap that easily, so I'd do a lot to change the settings), or SkyRe. The few mods I'm considering are things like(obviously SKSE as well, given that some of these mods require that): Better Vampires Khajiit Speak - Complete Dialogue Overhaul The Paarthurnax Dilemma SkyUI UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul BVFE - Better Vampire Fangs and Eyes Along with a few other smaller things, especially this, and a body mod or two. I'm planning on doing a Khajiit, although I wish I could find a mod that makes their "Vampire" appearance a bit different. I even wrote this for the character, basically a whole backstory that connects him to one of my Oblivion characters. Hopefully most of these details are correct, or at least could work. - Spoiler:
Few know the secrets held by my family. Now, I may be the only one.
My father was not truly evil. It can be said that he was, although I doubt any who would make such a claim, can understand as I can. Thanks to what he left behind, I know his true motivation. He did not really act out of a selfish bid for power. He chose to make a stance, to do something that no other in that bloody Mages Guild chose to do. That being, to end the conflict. The problem, is that he chose to do so, by becoming a Necromancer himself. To join with the one known as Mannimarco. Some may view this as a mistake. However, as I understand it, it was not. The exact details are vague, even to me, but I know he gained power over something that few had. Death, itself.
Rather than using this for a selfish aim, his last gift to me and my mother, was something to ensure a legacy. Not for what would be my own children, but for the two in all of Tamriel that he gave up, perhaps too much, to protect. If he gave his life for us, I do not know. But I know that after he gave us the key to our continued legacy, I never saw him again. Perhaps he still lives, finding his own method for immortality at the side of Mannimarco. Or perhaps, he took the power of this, entity, for himself. I do not know, and will not likely know.
After the fall of the Guild, and the lapse of the Empire into the stagnation that it's stewards brought, my mother understood, just as well as I, that it was a turning point. My father would have said the same, and thus we chose to move to the house my father had bought in Bruma. Leaving the Imperial City was hard for us both. So many memories, some happy, others sad, but all worth the feelings, the pain, the happiness. However, leaving it behind meant that, when the fighting began, we were spared from it. However, we were forced to endure another fight – one that brings me to the point where I am now.
When we arrived in Bruma, we settled in, and made our home in the snowy town. My father liked it for several reasons, mostly since my mother herself was born in Skyrim, and it was the closest place that she had in Cyrodiil that was like home. She wished to go back, but it was something she would never do. At least, not while she would be able to enjoy herself. Oddly, in a way, neither would I. At least, not for some time.
Yeah, I know. My idea concerning the character and his writing, is that he may speak like a Khajiit(i.e the dialog mod I mention above), but he writes for the most part like an Imperial, given that he was raised in Cyrodiil. There is more, which does a lot to connect things lorewise, in such a way that I think does work. Oh, and a bit from the latter part: - Spoiler:
I ran into a tower with two of the men who had been in the cart, Ulfric being one of them. Asked what was going on, he said what I already knew. Adding “Legends do not burn down villages.”
I thought, “Sure they do. If they are true.”

| Okay, so maybe I got it watching Gopher's lets plays, but now, I really get it.
Fear is a useless emotion at this point. Surely things cannot be this bad so soon.
I know this music. Clearly, this one does not.
It seems Ra'Maki is full of surprises.
I like the leather against my fur. It feels as good as taking revenge on these Thalmor.
Interesting way to shout from mountaintops.
A spring in the day that heralds darkness. Poetic, no?
I'm using almost all of the mods mentioned above, save for UFO.

| I think I'll pass on the vampire perks. I only started Dawnguard to stop vamps from killing shopkeepers; and it's boring me to tears. | |

| BTW, if anyone is interested, some time ago I made a very simple mod to deal with low level dragons being too weak: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=124047277
The downside of the mod is that the new dragon types added by the expansions never show up. But the main difference between those and the already present Ancient Dragon is that they simply have more health. They actually don't do more damage and are only really good for collecting that dragonslaying achievement.

| You don't understand. I am well aware of the option, I was curious about differences. I turned Harkon down on purpose, I am a proud daughter of Skyrim and I will purge it of all the menace. When I feel like it. | |

What is it about? Will it be on Steam Workshop or only Nexus? I play level 67 Breton Spellsword and eat Dragons in Thalmor sauce. I recently discovered how much fun it is to play in a Beast Form. To think I only got the Blood from Aela to get this sick Stamina regeneration...!

| Spellsword: noun, Conjugate word made up of two nouns: spell and sword. In TES universe a character known to use both mundane and arcane means of combat. Happy? In a nutshell, I use Two Handed, Archery, Block; all with Enchanting and Alchemy to provide interesting fireworks for the Thalmor and something for toxycology report by nearest priest of Arkay for the local Jarl, as well as well as Destruction (Fire, Erost, Shock...), Illusion and Alteration (Frenzy, Invisibility, Muffle, Pacify...) to prevent my opponents from getting bored. An essence of a Breton: mongrel approach of blade taken after Nedick/Nordic father mixed with spells, courtesy of Direnni Altmer mother. | |

I'm about to start Dawnguard with my High Elf, Circe. Already completed the College, and she's level 23. Plus she is already a Vampire, so it might be obvious what path she is going to take. Oh, and is it obvious she is at least okay with the Thalmor ideals? Granted she is wavering in those beliefs, given an encounter in a hidden Shrine to Talos, but in some respects, she has always been a bit more out for herself and any she cares about than her race as a whole. Also, I have two other characters at the same point in the game. Both holding the Dragon Elder scroll, just needing to go up the Throat Of the World(one of them having not been up there yet).

| Well, while Feral prefers his dragons dipped in delicious Thalmor sauce, my character Liarna, a vampire, takes a more simplistic approach: Eat the Mer, make pincushions out of the others. Usually, I prefer characters who charge in and wreck the place with an axe, but Skyrim made sneaking and archery fun for the first time in my RPG career. Wrecking stuff in vampire lord form is still a lot of fun, though. | |

| I recently picked up my necromancer and ran him through the vampire side of Dawnguard. I've been using the character to playtest my Skyrim overhaul and noticed I could've designed the perk trees much better. So it's back to the drawing board in that regard.
But at least the new necromancer spells I added proved to be a lot of fun.
