Probably not, but who knows. Entirely plausible we're proven to be cells (or rough equivalent) of some bigger entity for all we know. That said, innocent until proven guilty, so to speak.

What about holy cat hair grenades?

Well, I do not know how our immunological systems would like chloroplasts in our cells... Or full algae cells, to think of it.
Not to mention we would have to go about naked for it to work.

Cat hair greandes would work, but it would likely have more to do with the explosive than the cat hair.

I'm more interested in photosynthesis itself than in specifically getting it by eating algae.

It requires chloroplasts with their own DNA as well as quite a few genes in the nucleus... Very not easy to do.

Sounds like a great way to get a Nobel prize then.
